Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities: - Implements and optimizes the computerized database systems that support the organization’s and/or customers’ ability to function daily. Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases. - Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree and 12 years of experience or a Master's degree and 10 years of experience or an Associate's degree and 14 years of experience or a High School diploma/equivalent and 16 years of experience. - Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust. - A minimum of 10 years of experience in database administration, including enterprise-level database systems. - Expert-level experience administering and supporting Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database environments, as well as other relational database management systems. - Proven experience with database performance tuning, including indexing, query optimization, and system performance analysis. - Strong experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning, including replication across multiple environments. - Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain secure and highly available database environments. - Experience developing and maintaining stored procedures, triggers, and complex SQL queries. - Strong knowledge of database security, data integrity, and access controls. - Experience establishing and enforcing database standards, policies, and governance practices. - Proven ability to support database design, integration, and system architecture efforts. - Experience monitoring database performance, analyzing utilization, and providing recommendations for optimization and improvements. - Ability to manage multiple database environments and support production systems in a 24x7 operational environment. - Strong communication skills with the ability to work with technical teams, leadership, and stakeholders.
