• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support the full software lifecycle • Develop self-service tooling and standardized workflows for deployment and operations • Improve developer experience through automation, documentation, and clear best practices • Implement and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar) • Support containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes) • Maintain and improve environments across dev, staging, and production • Partner with platform and SRE teams to ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient • Implement observability tooling across logging, metrics, and alerting • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and system improvements • Ensure secure pipelines, secrets management, and access controls • Work closely with engineering teams to support deployment and operational needs • Troubleshoot infrastructure and runtime issues across systems • Contribute to platform standards and internal documentation

• Define and own cloud architecture and DevSecOps strategy for proposals and active delivery programs • Design secure, scalable, cloud-native platforms including CI/CD, IaC, container orchestration, identity/access, and observability • Establish architecture standards, reusable patterns, and technical governance aligned with federal security and delivery expectations • Collaborate with business development teams to shape technical solutioning early in the pursuit process • Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture reviews, technical decision-making, and mentoring senior engineers • Lead modernization efforts (legacy-to-cloud migrations, platform hardening, automation, reliability improvements, AI integration) • Ensure solutions meet quality, performance, and compliance needs (e.g., NIST/FISMA/FedRAMP-aligned environments, as applicable) • Serve as a thought leader across projects and proposals, contributing to Bixal’s technical vision and strategy • Lead technical solutioning for pursuits, shaping win themes through architecture, delivery approach, and risk mitigation • Write and review technical proposal content including technical volumes, SOW responses, implementation approaches, and compliance matrices • Present and defend solutions in client discussions, solutioning sessions, and orals presentations with clear, executive-ready communication.

• Operational Stability & Reliability: Own the health and performance of our hybrid (AWS/On-prem) estate. • Infrastructure Maturation: Lead the effort to document our environment—creating the architecture diagrams and runbooks necessary to eliminate single points of failure. • Pragmatic Kubernetes Management: Operate and improve our existing production Kubernetes clusters. • Technical Authority & Peer Leadership: Serve as a senior technical sounding board and mentor. • Developer Enablement: Partner with development teams to provide the automation, standards, and guardrails that allow them to own their own deployments safely. • Sustainable On-Call: Participate in a sustainable on-call rotation. • Security & Compliance Support: Own the operational application of ISO 27001 controls within your remit.
