The Role We are seeking an experienced GCP Cloud Platform Engineer to support our client on a critical cloud infrastructure initiative. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong migration experience who can work independently to build, manage, and optimize production-ready infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in GCP infrastructure, cloud migrations, Linux, networking, and Infrastructure as Code. You will work closely with internal engineering teams and client stakeholders to support projects from initial definition through final delivery, ensuring scalable, secure, and reliable cloud environments. Key Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure Delivery: Build and manage GCP infrastructure across core services including Compute, networking, IAM, storage, and GKE. Migration Execution: Support and execute migrations from on-premises or multi-cloud environments into GCP, including lift-and-shift and replatforming strategies. Infrastructure as Code: Implement and maintain infrastructure using Terraform to ensure repeatable, scalable, and production-ready deployments. Performance & Cost Optimization: Troubleshoot infrastructure and application performance issues while identifying opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and cloud cost management. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, DevOps, and client stakeholders to ensure successful delivery across the full project lifecycle. What We Are Looking For Experience Cloud Infrastructure / DevOps: 6-8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps. GCP Expertise: 4-6+ year of proven hands-on experience working with GCP in production environments, with a strong understanding of Compute Engine, VPC, IAM, and storage. Migration Experience: Experience executing cloud migrations from on-premises or multi-cloud environments into GCP. Independent Execution: Ability to work independently in a contract or client-facing delivery environment. Technical Skills Infrastructure as Code: Strong experience with Terraform preferred. Containers & Kubernetes: Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes, including GKE, is highly valuable. Linux & Networking: Solid Linux systems knowledge and strong networking fundamentals. Automation & Scripting: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and scripting in Python or Bash. Monitoring & Optimization: Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and cloud cost optimization best practices. Hybrid / Multi-Cloud Exposure: Experience working across hybrid or multi-cloud environments is a plus. Required Credentials GCP Certification: Relevant Google Cloud certification required.
