Cloud Engineer, Tier 2

Leidos

• Build and maintain products focused on application development lifecycle automation • Work with the cloud, security, testing, and application teams to build orchestration pipelines • Build, support, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that conduct multiple deployments a day • Provide guidance and stewardship in Agile and DevOps practices that maximize flow • Assist with IAM access issues and help resolve them • Develop strong relationships and partnerships with the other CMS Hybrid Cloud Product Teams • Promote strong quality control practices for all managed services as well as maintain robust documentation

Job Requirements

  • BS degree and 4 + years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with 2 + years of prior relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud-based security tools, best practices and policies including demonstrated experience protecting all layers of the application stack.
  • Knowledge of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong and relevant experience in cloud technologies, cloud services, IaC, cloud storage, cloud networking and cloud security.
  • Experience with container build and orchestration: Kubernetes and/or Docker Swarm.
  • Extensive knowledge of Build Tools: Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

We are looking a Cloud Resiliency Engineer, will support customers through focused technical engagements aimed at improving the reliability, continuity, and recoverability of their cloud environments. The architect will combine deep technical expertise in Microsoft Azure with a strong command of disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational resiliency processes, including the design and evaluation of Major Incident Response Plans (MIRPs). This role requires the ability to assess both cloud infrastructure and resiliency processes end-to-end, identifying risks, aligning to best practices, and delivering clear, actionable recommendations that strengthen the customer’s ability to withstand and recover from disruptions. This role requires a fluent French level. Required Qualifications - Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in the following areas: - Deep experience with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) design in Microsoft Azure. - Solid understanding of Azure architecture, including infrastructure, Availability Zones, backup/recovery, and monitoring services. - Familiarity with cloud-native resiliency patterns and site reliability engineering (SRE) methods. - Proven ability to assess and design effective Major Incident Response Plans (MIRPs) that align with operational SLAs and business risk tolerances. - Experience in business continuity planning, incident response coordination, and process maturity assessments. - Excellent communication and documentation skills for technical and executive stakeholders. - Background in technical consulting or assessment-based delivery engagements. Certifications (will need to get certified within 2-3 months of joining if missing any of the following) - Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert - ITIL Foundation Certification - Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate. Salary Range: The base salary range for this position is $79,767-$125,348 CAD, plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on work location, qualifications, skills, education, experience, and competencies.
