Sales Engineer
ActivTrak
As a Sales Engineer, you play a vital role in selling the ActivTrak platform. This role is critical to our sales process, engaging with prospective clients as a technical advisor and product advocate. Our Sales Engineers collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Customer Experience and Support teams to respond to sales opportunities and grow ActivTrak's client portfolio. - Represent ActivTrak as the technical SME for new business and expansion opportunities, applying product knowledge to address specific customer needs to win new business - Communicate the value proposition of ActivTrak's solutions through the technical lens, assisting business team partners with client facing engagements - Execute demonstrations, POCs, and free trial evaluations of the ActivTrak suite - Ensure the successful delivery of ActivTrak services by leveraging technical product knowledge to guide customers in the deployment and use of ActivTrak products, including throughout the trial process - Respond to RFPs and other client technical requests - Collaborate with senior team members to provide customer feedback and inform product development priorities Skills & Attributes We're looking for candidates who demonstrate the following capabilities: - Intellectual Curiosity: Passion for exploring new technologies, understanding complex customer environments, and staying ahead of industry developments - Time & Priority Management: Proven ability to manage multiple sales cycles simultaneously, prioritize high-value opportunities, and meet commitments - Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business operations, ROI concepts, and how technology investments impact organizational success - Technical Acumen: Solid technical foundation with ability to quickly master new features, integrations, and platform capabilities - Data Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing customer data, usage patterns, and business metrics to drive insights and recommendations - Presentation Skills: Confident presenter who can deliver compelling demonstrations and articulate value propositions clearly - Ability to Hold the Room: Command presence during customer meetings, handle questions with composure, and guide discussions effectively - Problem-Solving: Analytical approach to addressing customer objections and designing creative solutions within product constraints - Relationship Building: Natural ability to build trust and rapport with customers at various organizational levels - Resilience: Maintain positive attitude through wins and losses, learning from each experience
Job Requirements
- We're looking for a technical professional with relevant experience in solutions engineering or technical sales, and:
- 3 years' experience in a technical pre-sales function
- Demonstrable history of successful SaaS or PaaS solution consulting
- Excellent business acumen, and an ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
- Strong active listening, written, and verbal communication skills
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
- Experience conducting technical demonstrations and managing proof of concepts
