As the Engineering Manager, you will: - Build and scale the engineering capability powering our enterprise commerce, mobile, and integration projects. - Own outcomes from technical quality and team velocity to hiring and mentoring, directly impacting client value. - Be the technical backbone, ensuring technology never blocks delivery or sales by providing architecture, feasibility, risk assessments, and reliable estimations across any stack or domain. - Partner with Delivery Managers, Tech Leads, and Talent teams to grow leaders and enable excellent, scalable engineering while maintaining quality. Salary: - up to 35,000 PLN net monthly (B2B) + 20 paid days off - up to 29,100 PLN gross monthly (Employment Contract)
Job Requirements
- 7–10 years of engineering experience (full-stack mindset preferred).
- 2–3 years of leading teams, managing Tech Leads, and scaling capabilities.
- Strong background in at least one commerce stack (e.g., Headless Commerce, PIM/DAM, Headless CMS) with cross-stack operational ability
- Experience supporting presales and proposal reviews.
- Proven ability to break down unfamiliar domains and provide reliable architecture, risk assessments, and estimations.
- Deep technical literacy to audit code, architecture, CI/CD, and quality gates.
- Proficiency in system design skills.
- Competence to operate across frontend, backend, mobile, DevOps, and cloud (Azure, AWS).
- Excellent stakeholder communication, navigating priorities and complexity in multi-stakeholder environments.
- High accountability, systems thinking, and a bias for structure, clarity, and action.
- Communicative (B2+) Polish and English.
- Nice to have:
- Strong Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js background.
- AI-augmented coding practices
- Experience with payments, logistics, or marketplace platforms
- Experience in software consulting, product development, or digital delivery models.
- Background in growing Tech Leads, building communities of practice, or leading engineering transformation.
- Responsibilities:
- 1. Engineering Ownership & Leadership
- Leading and managing an engineering group (e.g., Backend/DevOps), consisting of 30+ people.
- Coaching, and helping Tech Leads across your domain to grow.
- Defining architecture, coding, review, and delivery standards.
- 2. Commerce Capability Leadership
- Owning engineering competence across commerce technologies (Headless Commerce, PIM/DAM, Headless CMS, complex integration patterns).
- Defining recommended stacks, integration patterns, and technical reference architectures.
- 3. Hands-on Problem Solving & Reviews
- Jumping into projects in crisis, diagnosing issues, and proposing actionable recovery plans.
- Performing architectural and code reviews when necessary.
- Driving quality outcomes: review practices, CI/CD, test coverage, and rework reduction.
- 4. Presales & Feasibility
- Supporting Deal Reviews with architecture options, reliable estimates, risk assessments, and alternatives.
- Providing technical clarity in unknown industries or new solution areas.
- 5. Engineering Health & Performance
- Monitoring engineering health: velocity, rework, cycle/lead time, bug rate, test coverage, code quality, and morale.
- Driving continuous improvement episodes across teams.
- 6. Hiring & Capability Growth
- Recruiting, coaching, and growing Engineers and Tech Leads (providing feedback, growth planning).
- Building a competency roadmap for your domain.
