Role Description Bio-Techne is seeking a Field Applications Scientist (FAS) for a 14-month contract to provide exceptional sales and customer support for our innovative protein analysis instrumentation. In this role, you will offer pre- and post-sales technical expertise, including assay development and support for various product lines. Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Empower scientists by training on instrument use, assay development, and data analysis for ProteinSimple’s instruments and software. - Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers in the assigned territory. - Support sales efforts by helping to increase product usage through technical presentations and product demonstrations. - Provide in-field product expertise to support complex technical sales discussions with both current and prospective customers. - Collaborate with Territory Sales Managers to develop and execute short- and mid-term sales strategies to meet or exceed commercial sales goals. - Provide ongoing support for customers both in-person and remotely. - Serve as a key contributor of customer feedback to the Marketing and Product Development teams. - Assist in the creation and review of technical literature, such as manuals and application notes. - Create and maintain customer support information in the database (Salesforce). Qualifications - Fluent in English and ideally in French; other European languages are a plus but not essential. - BS/BA degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering, or a related life science field; MS/PhD preferred. - A minimum of 5 years of experience in a life science field. - Ability and willingness to travel as needed, with travel up to 80% (drivers’ licence essential). - Previous hands-on experience with immunoassays and protein characterization assays is required. - Strong understanding of various protein analysis techniques, including capillary electrophoresis, isoelectric focusing, HPLC, Western blots, ELISAs, FACS, and particle characterization, is desired. - Expertise in life science lab support. - In-depth knowledge of current scientific literature, life science methods, and applications. - Previous experience providing applications/technical support is preferred. - Conscientious, articulate, and possesses excellent presentation and teaching skills. - A commitment to total customer satisfaction. - Strong organisational and administration skills. DUTIES: - Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”), DOT Inspections and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. - Perform minor adjustment and repairs on various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc. - Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc. - Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges. - Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and to ensure that they are working properly. - Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives. - Independently manage parts inventory and equipment provided on company-issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation. - Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections of vehicle. - Work with and listen effectively to clients and customers to assess their needs, providing information or assistance, resolving their problems, or satisfying their expectations. - Manage concurrent assigned tasks, making effective judgments as to prioritizing work related activities and time allocations. - Use hand tools, precision instruments, as well as Diesel tools, welding equipment, lift and jacks. - Document according to company standards and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and all findings observed on Repair Orders (“RO”) using company-issued iOS device and our proprietary TRAIT application. - Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in a timely fashion. - Work with a high degree of independence and manage own daily schedule. - Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most Standard Repair Times. - Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for the repairs to be performed. - Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers and/or discuss RO findings notes. - Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT. - Maintain company issued service truck, conduct safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections. REQUIREMENTS: - High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years’ experience in a related field. - Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties. - Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months. - This position follows regulations issued by the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). AAA is hiring for Full-Time Emergency Roadside Telephone Responders for our Virtual Call Center for Schedules beginning at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm EST. **This is a work from home customer service position** **Candidates MUST live within one of the following states to be considered**· ·Connecticut ·Delaware ·Indiana ·Kansas ·Kentucky ·Maryland ·New Jersey ·Ohio ·Oklahoma ·Pennsylvania ·South Dakota ·Virginia ·Washington, DC ·West Virginia Benefits: - Competitive Hourly Rate: The starting base compensation for this position is $10.05 to $19.25 hourly. Wireless, DSL, Hot Spots, Satellite or shared/public internet connection is not authorized and is prohibited - Successful completion of three week virtual training class - Ability to work weekends, overtime and/or holidays is required and can be needed specifically during times of inclement weather - This position does not allow the flexibility to provide care to others in the household Qualifications & Experience: - High School Diploma or equivalent - One year customer service experience, call center/inbound call taking experience preferred - Effective written and oral communication skills - Ability to multi-task, seek resolution and remain professional during times of high call volume in a fast paced work environment - Proficient computer use, typing skills and attention to detail - Familiarity with maps and map reading are preferred Daily Responsibilities: - Answer high volume incoming calls (averaging 40-60 calls per day) from AAA Members in need of Roadside Assistance, providing extraordinary customer service using sound judgement, expressing empathy as needed and providing accurate responses using internal knowledgebase programs and reference materials - Accurately input Member location, vehicle make/model and description of the needs of the Member including any special considerations - Use of online mapping tools to determine Member breakdown location and establishing the tow to destination - Actively listen and probe for additional information in order to identify situations that may require special handling (e.g. safety concerns, extreme hardship to Member, etc.) and make sound decisions concerning prioritization of service - Provide clear and accurate information on pending service, potential cost of service, estimated time of arrival and provide any instructions to the Member as needed - Ensure awareness of any AAA programs, products or discounts that may enhance the Members experience based on the specific circumstances of the call Paid virtual training class will begin on either 5-4-26 and will last for three weeks. You are required to be on camera for the entirety of your training, any subsequent training sessions and/or meetings throughout your employment with AAA. Hours of training are: Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:30pm EST. Attendance and successful completion of training is required.
