Career Opportunity- Global Commodity Manager- PCBs & Interconnect Reports to- Global Sourcing Director Job Location- This is a remote based position. Must be able to travel to site locations as needed, up to 25%. Citizenship Requirement- US Citizen or Permanent Residents Only; We can not sponsor Visas. The primary role of this position is to develop and execute short- and long-term commodity strategies, supplier management, and contract negotiations specifically for Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and Interconnect commodities (Cable Assemblies & Connectors). This role supports new product introductions (NPI), production continuity, and cost competitiveness by building a robust global supply base and leveraging strategic supplier relationships. The Global Commodity Leader ensures optimal performance across quality, delivery, cost, and technical capability while aligning with business unit and customer requirements. Primary Responsibilities: - Develop and execute global commodity strategies for PCBs (Rigid, Flex, Rigid-Flex, HDI) and Interconnect (Cable Assemblies & Connectors) aligned to quality, delivery, and cost objectives. - Support global quoting teams during NPI and RFQ phases, ensuring optimized sourcing strategies for cost, lead time, and manufacturability. - Identify, qualify, and develop strategic global suppliers (domestic and international) to ensure supply continuity, technical capability, and scalability. - Lead supplier negotiations and contract management, including LTAs, pricing agreements, capacity reservations, and risk mitigation strategies. - Establish and manage preferred supplier networks, driving consolidation and leverage across sites. - Partner cross-functionally with Site Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Program Management, and Operations to ensure alignment on sourcing strategies and execution. - Drive supplier performance management, including scorecards, QBRs, and corrective action plans for quality, delivery, and responsiveness. - Lead cost reduction initiatives (VA/VE, should-cost modeling, design for manufacturability, and alternate sourcing strategies). - Manage global supply risk, including capacity constraints, geopolitical exposure, material shortages (e.g., laminates, copper, resins), and technology limitations. - Maintain current knowledge of PCB and Interconnect market conditions, including lead time trends, pricing drivers, and technology advancements. - Lead supplier transitions and resourcing initiatives, ensuring minimal disruption to production and customer commitments. - Utilize web-based procurement tools, analytics platforms, and e-sourcing tools to drive data-based decisions. Organizational Alignment - This position is part of the Global Supply Chain / Sourcing organization. - Works in a remote or hybrid environment within the United States. - Supports multiple sites and customer programs globally. Other Responsibilities - Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain and sourcing processes. - Support strategic customer engagements and escalations related to PCB and Interconnect supply. - Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Safety - Ensure all assignments are performed in compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Company safety regulations. Requirements Minimum Qualifications - 7–10+ years of experience in global sourcing or supply chain within EMS or electronics manufacturing. - Deep expertise in PCB technologies (Rigid, Flex, HDI) and/or Interconnect (Cable Assemblies, Connectors). - Proven track record of supplier negotiations, contract development, and cost reduction execution. - Strong understanding of: - PCB fabrication processes and supply base (domestic & Asia) - Interconnect manufacturing and value-add processes - Lead time drivers, capacity constraints, and market dynamics - Experience supporting NPI / RFQ environments and design-to-cost initiatives. - Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data-driven decision making. - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field. - Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally. - Valid passport required. Additional Preferred Qualifications - Experience in Aerospace & Defense supply chains (AS9100, ITAR considerations). - Familiarity with EMS quoting tools (e.g.,CalcuQuote) and ERP systems (e.g., D365, AX). - Experience with supplier risk management and dual sourcing strategies.
