Supply Chain Manager

Composites One

• Lead and manage a team of Buyers responsible for procurement and inventory management activities. • Provide performance management, coaching, professional development, and strategic direction to team members. • Establish and deliver training programs to support continued development of the buying team. • Drive procurement strategies aligned with company goals and customer service objectives. • Monitor key metrics such as fill rates, aged inventory, GMROI, and ROA to ensure optimal inventory performance. • Analyze inventory trends and guide Buyers in identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service levels. • Collaborate with internal teams to manage slow-moving or obsolete inventory. • Gather and analyze sales forecasts to support effective procurement planning. • Serve as a key liaison between procurement, sales, customer service, and distribution center teams. • Resolve internal process issues related to procurement and inventory management. • Partner with transportation and logistics teams to identify cost-effective freight and stocking strategies. • Lead supplier performance monitoring, evaluations, and improvement initiatives. • Identify and resolve supplier performance or service level issues. • Maintaining supplier data integrity and pricing information within internal systems.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain management within a sales or distribution environment.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience managing procurement or supply chain teams.
  • Familiarity with procurement or MRP systems (experience with MXP or similar systems preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business tools.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles including inventory planning, procurement, and supplier management.
  • Experience analyzing inventory and procurement data to drive operational improvements.
  • Ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate effectively with vendors.
  • Experience working within distribution, logistics, or warehouse environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting supply chain metrics and financial data.
