Position Summary A Microsoft SQL, Azure SQL, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure DevOps Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance of SQL Server, Azure SQL, Snowflake, and Microsoft Fabric data platforms. This role ensures high availability, security, scalability, and data integrity across on-premises and multi-cloud environments, while supporting CI/CD pipelines and enterprise data gateway infrastructure. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities - Database Administration (SQL Server & Azure SQL)-Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022) and Azure SQL databases. Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, implement tuning strategies, backups, restoration procedures, disaster recovery planning, migrations, upgrades, and patches. - Microsoft Fabric Administration- Configure monitor and administer Fabric workspaces and artifacts. - VNet Data Gateway Administration- Deploy & Manage Gateway Infrastructure - Snowflake Administration- Provision & Optimize Snowflake Environments - Azure DevOps Support & Development- Design & Implement CI/CD Pipelines – Build and maintain YAML-based Azure Pipelines - Azure Cloud Management- Provision & Manage Azure SQL Infrastructure. - Security & Compliance- ensure compliance with data governance policies (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2) and conduct security assessments and vulnerability remediation - Performance & Optimization- Performance & Optimization: Analyze and tune queries and proactive performance monitoring across platforms. - High Availability & Disaster Recovery- Configure, maintain assist in design and test DR plans with defined RTO/RPO objectives across all platforms. - Collaboration & Support- Partner with developers, data engineers, BI analysts, and architects. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field - 3-5+ years of SQL Server and Azure SQL DBA experience - Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric administration and workspace management - Experience administering VNet Data Gateways and On-Premises Data Gateways - 2+ years of Snowflake administration or engineering experience - 2+ years working with Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Repos, Boards, Artifacts) - Proficiency in T-SQL, Snowflake SQL, and KQL (Kusto Query Language) - Experience with SSMS, Azure Data Studio, Snowsight, Fabric Admin Portal, and Azure Portal - Knowledge of CI/CD practices and database DevOps methodologies Preferred Qualifications: - Microsoft certifications: DP-300, DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer), AZ-400 (DevOps Engineer Expert) - Snowflake SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced: Administrator certification - Experience with dbt, Fivetran, Matillion, or Azure Data Factory - Familiarity with PowerShell, Python, and Bash scripting for automation - Knowledge of Bicep, ARM Templates, or Terraform for IaC - Experience with Apache Spark in Fabric or Synapse environments - Understanding of OneLake architecture and Delta/Parquet file formats - Knowledge of Microsoft Purview for data governance and cataloging We are not seeking agency assistance for this position.
