This is a position for an attorney who is detailed, meticulous, responsive, and client-focused, and who is comfortable crafting strategies to resolve high-stakes disputes. An ability to stay organized while monitoring numerous discrete issues is essential. This role entails a high degree of comfort with, and active management of, formal dispute processes such as litigation and arbitration. The ideal candidate is someone who can confidently work with clients, external counsel, and other parties to seek resolution of disputes and achieve client objectives. Location: This position is fully remote within the Continental United States. Compensation: The salary range for this position is between $160k and $170k, depending on experience level. Primary Responsibilities - Serve as primary client contact on post-closing indemnification claims and contingent consideration/milestone issue management. - Interpret and analyze M&A deal agreements - Actively manage responses to claims and milestone events, including litigation/arbitration as needed. - Draft deal-related correspondence, including emails and letters - Develop and execute strategies for managing and resolving disputes - Work closely with outside legal counsel to advance client objectives - Collaborate closely and in a collegial manner with other teams and groups within the Company. - Actively participate in or take the lead on special projects as needed. - Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications & Skills - Graduate of an accredited law school in the United States - At least 5 years in active legal practice, either in-house or at a law firm - Admission to the bar of any state - Comfortable with understanding and discussing complex written contracts - Experience with primary aspects of dispute management, including negotiation, mediation, and litigation/arbitration Desired Characteristics - Experience with M&A complex commercial, corporate, or securities matters (litigation or transactional) with a reputable law firm, financial institution, or company. - In-house litigation management experience - Law degree from a top law school - Solution-oriented and client-focused mindset - Self-motivated and independent - Creative problem-solving skills - Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines - Extremely detail-oriented and meticulous - High degree of responsibility and ownership over issues - Excellent oral and written communication skills Physical Requirements/Special Demands - Ability to work standard business hours, and occasional nights/weekends if required by client demands - May be remote with the ability to travel to Denver on occasion (approximately 2-4 times per year) as needed - Other travel may be necessary, up to 10% of the year for mediations, client meetings, or other deal-related events, and may not always be scheduled in advance ** We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas.
