Senior SharePoint, Power BI Developer

• Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure collaboration platforms and advanced data visualization solutions in support of federal and enterprise programs. • Translate business, technical, and operational requirements into scalable SharePoint environments and actionable Power BI dashboards that enable informed decision-making, performance tracking, and compliance reporting. • Work closely with program leadership, technical teams, and government stakeholders to ensure solutions meet security, usability, and governance standards while supporting mission and operational objectives. • Design, configure, and maintain SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint Server environments. • Develop and manage: Document libraries with structured metadata and taxonomy, Workflow automation using Power Automate, Permissions, role-based access control (RBAC), and user provisioning, Version control, records management, and audit logging, Build secure collaboration portals to support: Program documentation, Knowledge management, Operational workflows. • Ensure SharePoint implementations align with: Federal IT and cybersecurity standards, Records retention and data governance requirements. • Design, develop, and deploy Power BI reports and dashboards for executive, program, and operational use. • Integrate and model data from multiple sources, including: SharePoint lists and libraries, Excel, CSV, and structured datasets, SQL-based and cloud-hosted data sources (as applicable). • Develop: Optimized data models and DAX calculations, Automated refresh and publishing pipelines, Role-based security for reports and datasets.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in SharePoint development and administration
  • Business intelligence and data visualization experience supporting federal government (DoW) or regulated environments strongly preferred.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint Server
  • Power BI (dashboard design, DAX, data modeling)
  • Hands-on experience with Power Automate and Power Apps
  • Microsoft 365 security and compliance tools
  • Strong understanding of data governance and access control
  • Information architecture and UX best practices
  • Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
  • Azure services and integrations (preferred)
  • Agile and DevOps practices
  • U.S. Citizenship required to support U.S. Federal Client
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain MBI clearance level.

The Position The Senior Business Intelligence Developer supports and expands PG&E’s business intelligence solution(s), which includes a custom SQL Server-based data warehouse (on-premises) and a suite of reports in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Microsoft Power BI. They play a critical role in all phases of the solution’s lifecycle, including requirements gathering, data analysis and modeling, data warehouse development, ETL design and maintenance, integrating data from disparate data sources, developing and deploying reports and dashboards. As our analytics’ needs evolve, we anticipate opportunities to streamline and modernize our environment. The Senior BI Developer will help assess improvement areas within our current architecture, optimize performance, and strengthen documentation to support future scalability and long-term data strategy. The role focuses on developing the insights, reports, and semantic models that enable analysis of fundraising performance, constituent behavior, and gift trends, with occasional use of exploratory and predictive techniques. This position engages regularly with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and validate results. Essential Responsibilities SQL development in a production environment ● Develop, test and document stored procedures, views, tables, indexes, constraints, functions and T-SQL scripts. ● Prepare clear and comprehensive technical documentation Interview stakeholders about reporting needs ● Work regularly with the Director of Fundraising Data & Analytics and team members to identify new reports and updates, to existing ones, clearly communicate requirements and changes, and design, test, and validate report outputs.
