We’re seeking a Solutions Engineering Manager to lead a team helping customers adopt Pulumi’s modern infrastructure platform—enabling organizations to build, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using the full power of software engineering. Our Solutions team is dedicated to partnering with the sales team and empowering our customers with innovative solutions and exceptional experience throughout their buying journey. We are seeking an experienced People Leader to lead a global team of pre-sales solution architects. This role is crucial in driving team performance, enhancing customer adoption and fostering strong partnerships with our sales team, ensuring the technical win during the sales cycle and partnering with Pulumi product teams At Pulumi you will be challenged, learn, teach, and collaborate with an elite team of great people. While Pulumi is headquartered in Seattle, WA., we are dedicated to being a remote first company. This role will be located remotely on the East Coast of the United States. In This Role You Will: - Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture that aligns with company values and goals. - Lead, mentor, and managed a team of 6 to 10 customer facing architects, ensuring high performance and continuous professional growth. - Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and develop personalized growth plans for team members. - Partner with the sales team to review customer opportunities and bring technical evaluations to successful conclusion. - Work closely with architects to understand customer needs, challenges, and opportunities, ensuring tailored solutions are provided. - Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product teams and Executive Leadership to align strategies and enhance customer experience. - Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to ensure cohesive customer engagement. - Monitor and analyze team performance metrics, customer feedback, and market data to refine strategies and achieve business goals. - Participate in the recruitment and onboarding process for new team members, ensuring a strong, skilled and diverse team. - Promote a positive work environment that attracts and retains top talent. We’re Looking For Someone With: - 3+ years proven experience in a leadership role, managing customer facing technical teams, solutions architects, technical support or professional services teams. - Experience in a technical customer-facing role, including positions such as solutions engineering, consulting, or technical support. This experience encompasses addressing client needs, providing technical guidance, and ensuring successful implementation and support of technical solutions. - Deep familiarity with core cloud-based infrastructure, application modernization, Open Source technologies, and public and/or private cloud platforms. - Strong understanding of technology solutions, customer success, and enterprise software. - Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, drive results, and lead change effectively. - Experience working with Sales, Marketing, Product and Executive teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly. - Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments, with a demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive outcomes. Compensation: - Base salary hiring range: 175,000 to 196,000 (OTE range: 250,000 to 280,000) - This role will include a 30% commission/variable along with base salary. - All full time employee offers at Pulumi include base salary, bonus or variable, equity and benefits (details below).
