Lead Hexagon S3D Administrator
GE Vernova
• Administer and maintain the Hexagon S3D system, including user access, roles, permissions, system configuration, and troubleshooting. • Lead the integration efforts for S3D with other engineering design tools and systems by engaging engineering, IT, and customer stakeholders. • Develop and implement S3D workflows, procedures, and configuration standards to enhance efficiency, consistency, and data accuracy. • Support software installations, upgrades, patches, hot fixes, and testing, including coordination with internal technical teams, IT and client IT resources as required. • Manage scheduled services and procedures such as backups, batch processes, design checks, clash detection, and routine system jobs. • Perform regular system audits, integrity checks, restorations, and data quality reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. • Generate and analyze reports from S3D to support project management, engineering execution, and decision-making. • Develop and deliver training to S3D users and maintain user and administrative documentation, training materials, and support resources. • Support the team with the initial project setup in accordance with internal, industry, and client standards, ensuring those standards and data governance are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. • Create and maintain federated models throughout the lifecycle of the project. • Stay updated on the latest S3D features, platform capabilities, and industry advancements to continuously improve system utilization and delivery performance. • Apply technical experience and analytical thinking to solve problems, using multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions. • Execute work using structured, repeatable approaches aligned with established delivery frameworks, project standards, and client requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and 5 years of experience with the full suite of Hexagon Tools. OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 8 years of experience with the full suite of Hexagon Tools.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience administering S3D.
- Experience in other Hexagon tool sets to include SPF, SDX, SRD, SPI, SPEL, or P&ID.
- Proficiency in use of S3D for Piping, Electrical, and Structural modeling.
- Experience with setting up new environments and replicating designs.
- Proficiency with SQL.
- Familiarity with relational databases, structured data environments, and system interface validation.
- Experience supporting engineering design workflows within capital projects and/or operational environments.
- Working knowledge of engineering information lifecycles and downstream data usage.
- Familiar with ISO 19650 suite of standards.
- Have a sound working knowledge of Common Data Environments.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills.
- Ability to document work clearly, escalate issues appropriately, and support users in complex delivery environments.
