Job Description
Vice President, Product Management
FastSpring
About the Company: FastSpring is the world’s leading ecommerce platform for SaaS/Software, gaming, and digital product companies. Our product hosts over 10 million transactions per year, powering sales growth for more than 3,500 companies in over 200 countries, using every major currency. We pride ourselves on being an innovative company with an entrepreneurial culture, growth mindset, global influence, and profitable operations. We are committed to building an inclusive work environment, and we invest in our employees by helping team members grow and develop professionally. We are developers, technologists, and business professionals who are globally-minded, customer-focused, and driven by constant innovation. Founded in 2005, FastSpring is a privately owned company headquartered in Santa Barbara with offices in Amsterdam, Austin, Belfast and Halifax. Position Overview: FastSpring is seeking a Vice President, Product Management to lead product strategy and drive innovation in a high-velocity global environment of a PE-backed Merchant of Record. This role will be instrumental in shaping the next generation of products that enable our sellers to scale, optimize revenue, and operate seamlessly across markets. As the leader of the Product Management function, you will lead a lean, high-impact team where strategic clarity is our greatest lever. In our growing environment, success is not about growth at all costs. It comes from mastery of the Product Operating Model and disciplined, data-driven trade-offs. Reporting to the CPTO, you are a product leader with payments expertise and a sophisticated understanding of modern commerce ecosystems, with exposure to embedded finance, SaaS platforms, or related domains. This is a true player-coach role. You are equally comfortable developing talent as you are rolling up your sleeves to personally own critical workstreams or translate complex technical requirements into customer-centric solutions. You will be expected to lead from the front by working directly with customers, teams, and tools to prototype, test, and refine both products and how we build them. You will also play a key role in evolving how product development operates at FastSpring by incorporating more automated, intelligence-assisted, and high-leverage approaches across the lifecycle while maintaining a pragmatic, execution-first mindset. We are looking for a pragmatic innovator who is passionate about solving real-world developer and end-user problems. You see generative AI as a vital tool to amplify a team’s output and ensure we outmaneuver larger competitors through efficient execution and high-velocity learning. We believe the way products are built is undergoing a fundamental shift. This role is for someone excited to help shape what comes next. Responsibilities and Impact: - Refine and drive the product vision and strategy across our global payments and subscription platform. Fully transition the team to an outcome-based Product Operating Model aligned to FastSpring’s growth and disciplined resource allocation. - Lead the charge in embedding generative AI within the product lifecycle, from automating documentation and data synthesis to optimizing discovery, while actively using and evolving these approaches in your own work. - Lead and mentor the Product Management team, raising the bar on how PMs think, operate, and collaborate. Establish consistent, high-quality product practices through hands-on coaching and direct engagement, not just process definition. - Operates as a true player-coach by personally owning critical workstreams, writing technical specs where needed, and working alongside Engineering to solve complex problems across payments infrastructure and global compliance. - Own the full product lifecycle, from discovery and prioritization to go-to-market, maintaining close proximity to execution and ensuring strategy is grounded in real-world feedback and outcomes. - Partner deeply with Engineering, Customer, Sales, and Marketing to drive alignment, accelerate delivery, and ensure successful adoption. Build strong credibility with technical teams through shared ownership and high standards. - Dedicate significant time to the craft of product management by developing team capabilities in continuous discovery, commercial acumen, and stakeholder management to build a culture of extreme ownership and high performance. - Develop deep insights into customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics. Use a data-driven approach to identify growth opportunities and inform build versus buy decisions in a resource-conscious environment. - Champion a pragmatic, data-driven culture that prioritizes actionable insights over vanity metrics. Define clear success metrics, navigate trade-offs, and continuously refine the user experience to drive unit economic growth. - Serve as a key member of the leadership team, ensuring a cohesive, scalable, and differentiated product experience across the ecosystem while contributing to long-term company strategy. Qualifications: - 10+ years of Product Management experience, including 3+ years leading and developing product teams in high-growth SaaS or fintech environments. - Proven track record of building and developing high-performing product teams, with demonstrated ability to coach and elevate individual and team performance. - Proven track record of defining and delivering successful product strategies that drive revenue growth, customer adoption, and market differentiation. - Deep experience in subscription management, billing, embedded finance, B2B2C SaaS, or payments ecosystems. Strong understanding of global commerce, including compliance, taxation, and cross-border transactions is preferred. - Demonstrated ability to earn trust and credibility with engineering teams through strong partnership and execution. - Strong strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex technical and business challenges into scalable product solutions. - Experience partnering closely with engineering teams to deliver technically sophisticated products. - Hands-on mindset with comfort engaging directly in tools, systems, and workflows to prototype ideas and validate concepts. - Data-driven mindset with experience leveraging metrics, experimentation, and customer insights to inform product decisions. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and Board-level audiences. - Experience operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments, managing multiple priorities and driving outcomes with urgency. - Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus. Consistent with FastSpring's values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity.
