About Upstart At Upstart, we’re united by a mission that matters: to radically reduce the cost and complexity of borrowing for all Americans. Every day, we bring creativity, experimentation, and advanced AI to reshape access to credit, helping millions move forward financially with clarity and confidence. As the leading AI lending marketplace, we partner with banks and credit unions to expand access to affordable credit through technology that’s both radically intelligent and deeply human. Our platform runs over one million predictions per borrower using more than 1,800 signals, powering smarter, fairer decisions for millions of customers. But the numbers only hint at the impact. Every idea, every voice, and every contribution moves us closer to a world where credit never stands between people and their financial progress. We’re proudly digital-first, giving most Upstarters the flexibility to do their best work from wherever they thrive, alongside teammates across 80+ cities in the US and Canada. Digital-first doesn’t mean distant. We’re intentional about in-person connection through team onsites, planning sessions, and moments that spark creativity and trust. And whether you choose to work primarily from home or collaborate in-person from one of our offices in Columbus, Austin, the Bay Area, or New York City (opening Summer 2026), you’ll have the support to work in the way that works best for you. If you’re energized by tackling meaningful problems, excited to innovate with purpose, and motivated by work that truly matters, we’d love to hear from you. The Team: Upstart’s Capital Platform team builds the systems that enable capital to flow through Upstart’s marketplace reliably, transparently, and at scale. The team owns the core platform capabilities used by banks, credit unions, and institutional investors to onboard, configure lending programs, execute originations and loan sales, and monitor portfolio performance. Operating at the intersection of product, engineering, capital markets, finance, and compliance, the Capital Platform team focuses on building enterprise-grade, configurable, and reusable infrastructure that supports a growing and increasingly diverse set of capital partners across products. This team is responsible for foundational platform capabilities including partner integrations, capital execution workflows, and capital insights and reporting — with an increasing emphasis on white-label and embedded capital solutions that allow partners to leverage Upstart’s technology within their own ecosystems. Depending on business needs and your background, you will own one or more of the following Capital Platform problem spaces: - Capital Partner Integrations & Execution - Own the core workflows that onboard lenders and investors, execute originations and loan sales, and integrate with external systems and third-party providers. We believe prediction markets have the potential to be the largest financial market because they turn anything into a financial position. - Our vision: well… build the largest financial market on the planet. - Our mission: bring more truth to the world through the power of markets. Building a new category is hard… like really hard. But it’s beautiful and deeply fulfilling. Our culture is simple: we hire really talented people, work really hard, and enjoy the climb. We are looking for ambitious and exceptional people to join our (relatively small) team to help us build the next generation of financial markets. Role RoadmapAs our first product manager, you will be responsible for delivering delightful product experiences and building stuff people love (yes.. it does sound like a founder’s role and that’s not unintentional 🙃). We are looking for high output, consumer-focused, and growth-oriented thinkers to help solve some of the most complex customer facing challenges ahead of us. Your mandate is simple: discover the most intuitive way to present prediction markets to people and spearhead them into mainstream adoption. You will work with design, engineering, operations, markets, growth, and data to elevate our current product experience, and define and deliver new ideas to life, end-to-end. What you’ll do: - Execute against the product vision: building an intuitive gateway into prediction markets. - Obsess over our customers and their interactions with our product to deepen our understanding of their needs (including needs they don’t know to ask for). - Own how our users discover, engage, research, trade, and manage their positions. - Working with engineers, designers, data scientists, and growth marketers to craft delightful product experiences. - Work with the founders to establish the product roadmap and prioritize projects based on what would deliver the most value to customers. - Define, collect, and track metrics (both quantitative and qualitative) for product initiatives. - Work with growth to craft the story around our new initiatives and drive successful product launches. Oh…one more! We set out a goal to become one of the fastest shipping companies in the US: set a (really) high standard for speed and quality for our product team. What we’re looking for: Attributes: - 5+ years of product management experience - Experience with building high-quality consumer products - Experience with using research, experimentation, and data to guide decision making - Proven track record of consumer sensibility and taste (you built something delightful) - Strong sense of urgency and deep intrinsic motivation - Keep sense of discipline, prioritization, and attention to detail - Passion for prediction markets and/or financial markets - (Bonus) past experience in fintech or trading Our CultureMeritocracy is at our core, and we value people who take ownership and figure (usually hard) things out. We dream big. We love our craft deeply and are proud of what we put out in the world. We are committed to our vision of building something big… but also useful: a product that brings more truth through the power of markets.
