The spirit of DIY and customization runs throughout every element of a Slate, because people should have control over how their trucks look, feel, and represent them. | WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR - A visual communicator obsessed with making cool shit, scrolling their feed, geeking out on design and/or watching weird film-school deep cuts. - A lover of aesthetics who feels torn between picking between graphic and motion design. - A curious learner and design Swiss-army knife who’s equally comfortable in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma as they are in AfterEffects, Blender, or Flame - An idea-engine to create visual executions across a range of materials and media, including static and motion graphics. - Someone comfortable throwing out ideas for campaigns and content, with the chops to execute beautifully. - A chill collaborator to partner with other designers, copywriters, video editors, photographers, videographers, and internal and external stakeholders. - The type of person who bristles at bad type, cringes at crappy kerning, and reflexively redesigns things in your mind. - A passionate self-starter who loves making complicated things simple, simple things interesting, and everything beautiful. - Someone who takes the work seriously but not themselves. | WHAT YOU GET TO DO - Work with creative leadership to establish, evolve and refine our brand - Bring the brand to life through a spectrum of digital, physical, and multimedia executions - Provide strategic rationale for aesthetic and creative choices - Collaborate closely with the social and production teams to develop motion design and create video content - Design everything from collateral to videos to promotions to products - Be part of a scrappy creative team who advocates for smart, disruptive ideas - Create work that makes others jealous - Be an integral part of a growing creative team that’s defining a new auto brand - Stay on top of – and share – great work, inspiration, and industry trends - As our Graphic Designer, you’ll be a key contributor to our creative output and report directly to the Head of Creative. | WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM - Bachelor’s degree or experience in marketing, advertising, or a related field. - 5+ years of proven brand design experience in-house or at an agency - Fluent in designing for digital properties including websites, social, email and more - In-depth working knowledge of design trends, principles, and techniques - Experience juggling projects from ideation to production, through post-production and delivery - Able to work both independently and within a highly-collaborative environment - A knack for using feedback to make your work even better - Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as presentation skills - Expert in design software including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign - Comfort working in Microsoft 365 including Power Point, Word, Excel - Color, typography, and animation nerds welcome - A love of automotive is helpful but not necessary **This role can sit remote, but preference is Troy, MI, New York or Boston, MA WHY JOIN TEAM SLATE?
