Title: Global Events Planner Based in our Herndon, Virginia HQ, this role will support initially our US events calendar but expanding out into global events with career prospects to grow with the role. This requires 80% travelling and can be a hybrid role with the right candidate. The ideal candidate brings strong B2B event experience, preferably within data centers or digital infrastructure space but open to listen to candidates from other industries. This individual must demonstrate proven track record of delivering first class events with proof of significant attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Event Strategy & Planning Support - Support in the development of a comprehensive annual event strategy - Track and monitor our industry events ensuring we are where we should be or suggestions to explore others - Support in the management of our industry, customer and internal events across the globe. Design, Execute & Logistics - Own end-to-end event execution including contracts, budgeting, vendor management, creative designs, shipping, travel coordination, and on-site management - Manage relationships with event organizers, venues, production agencies, and industry partners - Support in the coordination of cross-functional alignment with our teams across the organisation Performance - Track and report event ROI - Deliver post-event reporting within defined timeframes - Provide quarterly event performance dashboards to leadership Budget Management - Develop and manage annual event budget - Negotiate contracts to maximize ROI - Ensure accurate forecasting and expense tracking Brand & Market Presence - Ensure consistent brand representation across all industry events - Manage all the deliverables of creatives to all events - Elevate executive visibility through speaking opportunities and panel participation Required Qualifications/Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Event Management or related field - 3+ years of B2B event management experience - Experience in data center, digital infrastructure preferred but not essential - Ability to run multiple events simultaneously with strong experience in high end events with a budget at $4m+ - Strong vendor negotiation and contract management skills - Experience with Creative & CRM and marketing automation platforms (Hubspot, Cvent, Canva plus other relevant apps) Required Proof of Activity Candidates must be able to provide: - Portfolio of events managed (size, budget, scope) - Documented examples of event ROI/success - References validating execution excellence - Examples of post-event performance reporting - Demonstrated experience securing executive-level meetings through event strategy - Coordinating international industry events and training programs Core Competencies and Bonus Skills - Strategic thinking with operational excellence - Data-driven decision making - Strong communication and executive-level professionalism - High accountability and ownership mindset - Ability to thrive in fast-paced, hyper growth environment - Ability to work with some supervision but takes initiative - Values culture and behaviours in an organisation - Ready to ‘roll up sleeves’ and ‘hit the road running’ - Personal brand and professionalism non negotiable - Community/Nonprofit event experience – Bonus - AI platform knowledge – Bonus - A language - Bonus EdgeConneX believes inclusion – of thought, backgrounds and experiences – affects all that we do, from our employees to the solutions we deliver. We are looking for a Strategic Events Senior Specialist to support planning and execution across our entire portfolio of events. In this role, you will partner closely with the strategic events team, design, product marketing, and sales to create amazing brand experiences while also maximizing sales opportunities and pipeline. This role reports to the Senior Director, Strategic Events and can be based anywhere in the US.
