Cloud Infrastructure Lead

Role Description The Cloud Infrastructure Lead is a high-impact role for an experienced professional who can translate organizational needs into a secure, stable, and well-governed cloud operating model. The role focuses on strengthening JerseySTEM’s Azure hosting, administration, data services, and tenant operations while maintaining AWS as a complementary infrastructure platform for applications, internal systems, and future migration needs. This role blends hands-on implementation with tactical oversight across: - AWS Infrastructure Operations - Azure Hosting & Administration - Infrastructure as Code - Hosting Migration & Platform Integration - Identity & Access Operations - Reliability & Service Continuity - Cost & Resource Optimization - Governance & Standards Qualifications - 8+ years of proven experience in cloud infrastructure, Azure administration, AWS operations, platform engineering, or systems engineering roles. - Ability to work independently as a “doer”, taking ownership of Azure and AWS initiatives from conception through implementation and ongoing support. - Strong understanding of Azure hosting, tenant configuration, subscription management, user lifecycle management, and AWS infrastructure concepts including compute, storage, networking, IAM, backup, and recovery. - Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or equivalent. - Experience supporting integrations, identity management, hosting migration, and configuration governance across Azure, AWS, and related cloud services. - Establish and maintain monitoring, alerting, logging, operational documentation, and support practices to ensure reliable service delivery. - Partner with JerseySTEM TECH and non-technical stakeholders to prioritize platform and infrastructure improvements aligned with organizational needs. - Demonstrated ability to optimize cloud subscriptions, licensing, hosted services, and infrastructure usage while recommending cost-effective solutions for a nonprofit organization. - Excellent communication skills to explain technical decisions, risks, and tradeoffs to both technical and leadership audiences. - Comfortable working in a fully remote, member-driven organization. Requirements - Ability to dedicate approximately one working day (6-8 hours) per week to have a tangible impact. - Relevant certifications are a plus but not required (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Terraform Associate). Technology Education Area Lead

Role Description This is a pro-bono volunteer position. Lead a team of 3-4 volunteers to develop and/or acquire as well as improve the Technology (Coding, Robotics, AI, Cyber) STEM Outreach Program curriculum to be delivered to middle school girls (grades 5-8) who are in underserved communities. (The Outreach Programs are typically delivered as after-school programs following a fall/spring semester schedule.) Responsibilities - Lead a team of 3-4 volunteers to: - Provide direction and coaching to your team, build team spirit! - Develop new and interesting STEM curriculum, and update existing curriculum - Reach out to content providers for potential partnership - Produce materials for both Coaches and students to use in the afterschool programs - Produce extracts of the Curriculum to fit the needs of the class - Answer Coach questions, and provide advice on curriculum content delivery - Leverage technology for innovative ways to deliver curriculum - Use feedback from ongoing classes to improve/enhance existing curriculum Qualifications - BS and strong background in engineering field - Experience delivering middle school curriculum a plus - Strong written and verbal communications skills - Able to adapt and solve problems as they arise - Willing to volunteer advice and opinion Requirements - 3-6 Hours weekly - 6 months minimum
Coding Team member/Curriculum Designer

Role Description This is a pro-bono volunteer position. JerseySTEM provides free after school STEM classes to underserved middle school girls grade 5-8. The Coding Team member/Curriculum Designer will: - Research, design and curate, format and test a set of 10 lessons (2 hours each) to introduce topics of block coding, programming, MIT App Inventor, emulators, etc. in an age-appropriate manner. Responsibilities include: - Develop new and interesting STEM curriculum, and update existing curriculum. - Reach out to content providers for potential partnership. - Produce materials for both Coaches and students to use in the afterschool programs. - Produce extracts of the Curriculum to fit the needs of the class. - Answer Coach questions, and provide advice on curriculum content delivery. - Leverage technology for innovative ways to deliver curriculum. - Learn and practice the curriculum concepts (block coding, programming, MIT App Inventor, emulators). - Use feedback from ongoing classes to improve/enhance existing curriculum. - Be a proactive team member and be part of building a fun and exciting team! Weekly time commitment: 5 hours weekly. Qualifications - Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gap. - Familiarity with Science and Engineering standards for middle school students. - Experience with K-12 schools as a teacher, parent, or former student professionally. - Familiarity with New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Computer Science and Design Thinking. - Working knowledge of MIT App Inventor. - Understanding of coding concepts (loops, variables, conditionals, etc.). - Understanding of block coding. - Strong written and verbal communications skills. - Strong analytical skills. - Resourceful, can-do attitude. Role Description This is a pro-bono volunteer position. JerseySTEM is seeking an AI-Forward Data Intelligence Stack Owner to lead the evolution of our data-to-intelligence pipeline. The scope of this role is strictly focused on the Intelligence Layer of the tech stack, transforming organizational data into automated insights. You will architect a stack that leverages: - Generative AI - Automated Data Pipelines - Predictive Modeling to provide real-time, actionable intelligence. You are the bridge between raw data silos and an AI-enhanced decision-making culture. Responsibilities - AI-Centric Architecture: Design and oversee a data stack (Google BigQuery, Vertex AI, or similar) that prioritizes AI readiness and automated data flow. - Generative Insights: Implement AI "Chat-with-your-Data" interfaces and LLM-driven summarization for stakeholders to interact with organizational data. - Predictive Analytics: Move beyond historical reporting to build models that predict volunteer churn, student engagement trends, and fundraising opportunities. - Automated Governance: Utilize AI tools to monitor data quality, flag anomalies, and ensure privacy compliance automatically. - Orchestration: Integrate data from platforms (Salesforce, Jira, Google Workspace) using AI-friendly ETL/ELT processes that minimize manual intervention. - Implementation: Directly configure and code/test the initial data pipelines, AI integrations, and reporting logic before scaling through the lean team. - Team Leadership: Recruit and mentor a "Lean Data Team" focused on modern techniques like prompt engineering for data, automated visualization, and data engineering. Qualifications - Strong understanding of how to use LLMs specifically for data extraction, SQL generation, and automated synthesis. - Experience with cloud data warehouses and AI-integrated BI tools (e.g., Looker’s Duet AI, Power BI Copilot). - Proficiency in SQL and Python, with an emphasis on building clean data for AI consumption. - Ability to replace spreadsheets with automated, intelligent solutions. - Ability to translate AI-driven outputs simply to cross-functional partners. - Comfortable working in a remote, distributed, member-driven environment. - Minimum commitment of 6 hours per week. • Partner with the Data Analytics team to identify Schools of interest that could partner with JerseySTEM, amongst New Jersey 2000+ middle schools according to criteria established by the board of Directors. • Research schools, identifies stakeholders (School admins) and locate their contacts • Assign schools to Area Managers and agree on targets/goals for the outreach. • Partner with Area managers to call on schools identified as targets • Participate in the COME leadership team activities • Conduct/Attend virtual team meetings weekly 4-6 Hours a week, 6 month minimum

• Guide the team's individual contributors and interns, including the selection and onboarding of new team members. • Prioritize the work according to business needs and available skill sets. • Support the team of Salesforce Admins and Developers to ensure that each individual contributor and intern has tasks that match their skillset. • Communicate frequently with team members to ensure they remain engaged and understand that their contributions are valued. • Develop an understanding of the team members' skill sets and the skills needed to create/maintain the features and subsystems of the JerseySTEM Salesforce implementation. • Triage incoming help requests, assigning them to team members who can address the requests, or convert them to projects in consultation with the Product Owners. • Manage the Jira backlog and Kanban board. • Host weekly team meetings via Google Meet.
