Senior Enterprise Cloud Architect

Role Description DLH is seeking a senior Enterprise Cloud Architect to support technical strategy, solutioning, and architecture development for CDC-focused opportunities. This role will provide deep expertise in cloud architecture, infrastructure modernization, and enterprise integration within the CDC technical environment. The architect will work closely with Capture, Business Development, and Proposal teams to shape credible, executable architecture strategies aligned with CDC’s cloud implementation realities. The successful candidate will bridge enterprise architecture vision with practical implementation pathways that account for CDC governance models, OCIO policies, and operational constraints. Responsibilities - Strategic Growth Support - Support capture and proposal efforts by providing CDC-specific cloud architecture guidance. - Help shape technical strategies for CDC modernization, migration, and enterprise integration initiatives. - Identify architecture discriminators, transition risks, and modernization pathways aligned with CDC infrastructure realities. - Enterprise Cloud Architecture - Design scalable hybrid cloud environments across Azure, AWS, and enterprise hosting platforms. - Develop architecture approaches for application migration, containerization, and enterprise integration. - Advise delivery teams on secure and compliant cloud architecture implementations. - Technical Solution Development - Participate in architecture solution sessions and technical working groups. - Develop CONOPS, architecture diagrams, migration strategies, and implementation roadmaps. - Translate complex architecture concepts into executive-level briefings and technical graphics. - CDC Environment Expertise - Provide insight into CDC cloud governance, OCIO infrastructure constraints, and enterprise integration patterns. - Help DLH teams align solution approaches with how CDC programs actually implement technology. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. - 15+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure architecture, or enterprise systems engineering. - 10+ years designing and implementing enterprise cloud environments. - Direct experience supporting CDC or a large federal health agency in technology environments. - Experience with AWS and Azure enterprise deployments. - Experience implementing federal security standards, including NIST frameworks. - Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. - Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or equivalent certification. - Preferred: Experience supporting CDC platforms such as BioSense, surveillance systems, or research environments. - Preferred: Experience with hybrid cloud, GovCloud environments, and enterprise reliability engineering. - Preferred: Experience translating architecture concepts into executive-level documentation and visuals. Requirements - Basic Compensation: $100 - $200 per hour. - The salary range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting.
