Geospatial Cloud Engineer
ROK Technologies, LLC
• Work as a leader in a team environment to administer, monitor, and troubleshoot ArcGIS Enterprise based solutions in cloud environments, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure (Azure) • Implement and validate solution changes, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency • Lead adherence to SLA response times and standards based on ROK contractual agreements • Proactively recognize potential inefficiencies in both ArcGIS Enterprise configurations and the supporting cloud environments utilized by our clients • Be proactive in recognizing and handling uptime and performance challenges • Assist and lead the upgrade process for ArcGIS Enterprise environments • Engage with Development, QA, and Product teams in bringing cases to resolution • Provide leadership and guidance to other members of the team • Troubleshoot systems and provide root cause analysis • Provide rotational 24/7 on-call technical support • Stay up to date on the latest and greatest releases from Esri
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience administering enterprise GIS solutions/systems that leverage the ArcGIS platform (desktop, Enterprise, and AGOL)
- High level of proficiency with the Esri product line, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, AGOL, and related desktop extensions
- Experience with Enterprise version upgrades
- Enterprise Geodatabase experience
- SQL Server Administration
- PostgreSQL DB user and role administration
- Experience with troubleshooting Branch and Traditional versioning
- Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, etc.) including troubleshooting
- Experience with ESRI Portal administration
- Experience with troubleshooting hosted feature services
- Restoring data from backups including WebGISDR
- Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact directly with customers who do not have an IT background
- Experience designing, administering, and/or maintaining cloud environments, such as Azure or AWS, supporting 24×7 high-availability production environments
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly
- Experience working in a leadership role

- Experience with SAML/SSO/MFA troubleshooting
- Experience hosting business mission-critical production environments with high up-time service level agreements
- Experience working with change-regulated environments, e.g. development, staging, and production
- Experience deploying/adding new infrastructure/roles into an existing Enterprise environment
- Familiarity with Kubernetes
- Working knowledge of creating an image cache
- Professional or Specialty level AWS or Azure level certification
- ESRI Advanced level certification in areas related to Enterprise
