Network Services Engineer
ScalableOS
• Troubleshoot end user connectivity from/to office and datacenters. • Support and troubleshoot on premise client network stack including switches, routers, access points, and circuits e.g. DIA’s and P2P. • Be able to support any specific client requirements for voice/video/security from 3rd party Vendors. • Create, manage, and troubleshoot next-generation firewall rules sets from vendors including Palo Alto, Meraki, and Juniper Networks. • Support IPSec VPNs with a variety of hardware, policy-based routing and a variety of cloud based computing and multi-site, multi-platform connectivity. • Be able to work directly with high profile clients to understand the needs and potential issues they are experiencing with network infrastructure. • Record all work activities in a timesheet in our ticketing system (ConnectWise). • Effectively communicate with both clients and peers ensuring timely responses. • Participate in on-call rotation.
Job Requirements
- 3 + years of networking experience
- Working knowledge and support experience with Juniper firewalls and switches utilizing Juniper Mist and CLI.
- Excellent LAN/WAN fault diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, including in-depth knowledge of Spanning Tree, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, OSPF, VPN, IPSEC, QOS, NATs and ACLs.
- A thorough understanding of the OSI model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networking concepts.
- Working knowledge of virtualisation and network integration with VMware infrastructure.
- Experience with network monitoring platforms.
- Knowledge and working experience with Next Generation firewalls such as Juniper SRX, Meraki MX, and Palo Alto.
- Experience with Meraki wireless appliances.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Work with and be a part of a collaborative team environment.
- Experience working with ITSM tools such as Connect Wise Manage or similar.
- Bachelors degree a plus.
- Industry certifications a plus.
- Flexibility for after hours and weekend work.
- Ability to work on call rotation.
