Role Description The Technical Publications Manager leads the development and delivery of high-quality customer and end-user documentation for Owl’s cybersecurity platforms supporting national security, defense, and critical infrastructure environments. This is a high-impact role responsible for transforming and modernizing the Technical Publications function. - Drive the evolution of documentation processes, tools, and workflows to improve scalability, efficiency, and content quality. - Implement structured content strategies, automation, and AI-assisted documentation capabilities within secure and air-gapped development environments. - Define documentation strategy, influence tooling decisions, and elevate how technical content is created and delivered across a growing portfolio of mission-critical cybersecurity products. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience). - 7+ years of experience producing technical documentation for enterprise IT, networking, or cybersecurity systems. - 2+ years of experience managing or leading technical writers. - Experience implementing AI-enabled documentation tools, automation frameworks, or structured authoring systems. - Demonstrated experience modernizing documentation processes, workflows, or tool chains. - Familiarity with documentation platforms such as Adobe FrameMaker, DITA-based systems, Markdown documentation pipelines, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite. - Experienced with AI-enabled productivity tools. - Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, usable documentation. - Experience supporting national security, defense, or regulated industry programs (preferred). - Experience working in secure or air-gapped development environments (preferred). - Experience working with Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid product development model (preferred). Role Description PlaceWorks is seeking a mid-level Technical Editor with 4-6 years of experience to join our Document Services Team. This position is ideally full-time; however, we are willing to consider candidates interested in part-time employment.
