What We’re Looking For: Michael Baker International is seeking a Proposal Specialist II to support our data center sector and work collaboratively with technical leads to prepare winning proposals and presentations. The Proposal Specialist II will partner with the Sector Lead and Capture Managers to jointly lead marketing efforts, the development of proposals and interviews within the company’s best practices framework. The ideal candidate is equal parts creative and organized and possesses project management, writing, and page layout skills. He/she is skilled in working with a team to formulate a pursuit’s strategic messages. The successful candidate will have leadership qualities and demonstrate a collaborative mindset, superior communication skills, problem solving ability, organizational skills, and transparency. They will be a strategic thinker and will push the status quo for continuous improvement. What You’ll Do: - Support the preparation of proposals, client presentations, client development activities and marketing initiatives. - Facilitate proposal kick off meetings that define expectations - Review client RFPs, identify tasks, assign responsibilities, and develop and manage adherence to the proposal schedule by the capture team - Facilitate strategy discussions and collaborate with capture team to develop strategy and win themes - Schedule and facilitate proposal review meetings - Coordinate receipt and submission of bidder RFIs to the client and distribution of responses/RFP addenda to the capture team - Develop page layout and manage proposal documents - Lead the team in the development of visual and written content for proposals; draft and/or edit proposal narrative as necessary - Communicate and coordinate status with the proposal team - Coordinate final internal approval process and submission of proposal with capture manager - Follow-up on proposal status with client’s procurement manager as appropriate What You Need to Succeed: - Minimum qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, or equivalent combination of education and experience - 6-8 years of experience in the planning, preparation, and development of architectural and engineering proposals and qualifications packages for government and private clients - Familiarity with the AEC industry and the data center market - Experience with graphic design/layout and Adobe InDesign - Intermediate to expert skills with Microsoft Office Suite - Strong project management skills - Strong interpersonal communication skills - Ability to focus on details as well as on the big picture - Organizational conceptual thinking skills - Effective decision making skills - Time management skills; ability to manage, organize, and prioritize project assignments to meet competing deadlines - Exceptional writing, editing, and document organization skills - Preferred qualifications - Experience with the mission critical/data center market - Experience with proposal database software Deltek Vision Compensation: The approximate compensation range for this position $86,359 - $124,697 per year. Role Description The Proposal Strategist/Writer manages high complexity weighted proposals. The Proposal Strategist/Writer works closely with leadership throughout Liviniti to create customized responses to RFx documents that differentiates Liviniti in the market, while developing strategic content tailored to the needs of clients.
