Qualifications - AA degree and three years work experience, or five years of progressive admissions experience, with a major emphasis in technology or online services. - Knowledge of online information records systems and A&R technology as it relates to registration, admissions, attendance, grades, archiving, and record keeping is required. - Clear evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, staff, and the community. Requirements - Analyze and correct state mandated Management Information System (MIS) reports, as well as 320 apportionment reports. - Assist the Dean or Registrar with attendance collection and reporting of census data, optical imaging, and the archiving of faculty and student records. - Assist Information Technology Services (ITS) with all A&R requirements needed for Online Records. - Represent A&R user interests for student database in technology-related meetings. - Attend and participate in all user group meetings related to technology. - Coordinate all activities associated with a student information system, including ongoing system enhancements and system upgrades. - Review and recommend software modifications in relation to the ongoing maintenance of a student information system. - Assess and coordinate computer training needs for A&R staff, as well as other departments. - Ensure effective utilization of computer system capabilities by the end users (staff, students, and faculty). - Train users (staff and faculty) in the operation of a student information system. - Assist with long-term, technology related planning in A&R for the student database (SIS). - Develop, implement, coordinate and direct Admission and Records services, particularly online records. - Coordinate, edit, and verify evaluations, rosters, grade functions and online grade reporting. - Coordinate project activities related to archiving, optical imaging, and is the liaison for all counseling needs related to the imaging system. - Serve as a liaison with the optical imaging system vendor for system upgrades and troubleshooting. - Provide operational feedback to ITS on the current imaging system and work with ITS staff to solve the interfacing issues. - Work directly and consult with vendors that support Admission software, division deans and other directors regarding procedures. - Act as a resource person, providing technical assistance and policy information to staff and students regarding interpretation of Education Code/Title V regulations and policy. - Serve on college committees related to Admissions and ITS technology issues. - Coordinate census, grade, and roster procedures. - Attend conferences, as needed, to remain current with technology and regulations. - Analyze and review applications, registration and attendance reports for state MIS and 320 apportionment report. - Schedule, train and provide work direction to support staff. - Help resolve student complaints and problems. - Coordinate the distribution of memos/information for all grade-related functions in Admissions, including rosters and attendance forms. • Administer and support ADABAS databases and related Software AG products in collaboration with MDHS database administrators. • Analyze user requirements and translate them into system designs utilizing Natural One, ADABAS, and associated technologies. • Test, implement, and perform quality assurance on information systems across supported environments. • Develop, maintain, and update documentation for system procedures, policies, and processes. • Advise on system architecture decisions to support the MACWIS application and other MDHS-supported systems. • Support operations within MVS/JCL, COBOL/CICS, VSAM, Linux/zLinux, Espsoft/SCL, Informix, and UNIX environments. • Implement state and federal mandates within Linux systems as they relate to applicable program areas. • Apply knowledge of SNAP, TANF, eligibility, economic assistance, and child welfare policies and procedures to system support activities. • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the software development lifecycle using established methodologies.
