Senior Database Administrator

• Administer and support ADABAS databases and related Software AG products in collaboration with MDHS database administrators. • Analyze user requirements and translate them into system designs utilizing Natural One, ADABAS, and associated technologies. • Test, implement, and perform quality assurance on information systems across supported environments. • Develop, maintain, and update documentation for system procedures, policies, and processes. • Advise on system architecture decisions to support the MACWIS application and other MDHS-supported systems. • Support operations within MVS/JCL, COBOL/CICS, VSAM, Linux/zLinux, Espsoft/SCL, Informix, and UNIX environments. • Implement state and federal mandates within Linux systems as they relate to applicable program areas. • Apply knowledge of SNAP, TANF, eligibility, economic assistance, and child welfare policies and procedures to system support activities. • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the software development lifecycle using established methodologies.

Job Requirements

  • 10 years of experience with Software AG products, including ADABAS, Natural, Natural One, Predict, Construct, ADABAS Replication, Treehouse tcVision, WebMethods EntireX, CONNX SQL gateway, ApplinX, and Natural AJAX.
  • 10 years of experience analyzing user requirements, designing, testing, implementing, and performing quality assurance of information systems utilizing Natural One, ADABAS, MVS/JCL, COBOL/CICS, VSAM files, Linux/zLinux, Espsoft/SCL, Informix, and UNIX.
  • 3 years of experience advising on system architecture and developing, maintaining, and updating documentation for procedures, policies, and processes.
  • 2 years of knowledge and experience with SNAP, TANF, eligibility, economic assistance, and child welfare policies and procedures, and implementing state and federal mandates in Linux systems.
  • Intermediate proficiency with relational database systems.
  • Intermediate proficiency with CICS, JCL, CA-7, and VSAM.
  • Intermediate proficiency with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Data Management Librarian Serving as a member of the Research Data Management team, this role is responsible for providing services and resources to support data literacy at MSK. In this role, you will be part of a collaborative team, advancing best practices and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles in support of data services at MSK. You will offer resources and training in research data management, including data management planning, curation and preservation of data, and support for data use and analysis. You will develop data resources and tools, including the MSK Data Catalog. You will also collaborate with the MSK research community to develop and maintain MSK data resources. This includes creating metadata records and other documentation to enable users to effectively access data needed in research and patient care, maintaining standards, and developing improved cataloging workflows. Keeping up-to-date on data services and best practices, you will also be responsible for conducting classes, workshops, and other presentations in data management best practices, data sharing requirements, and other related topics. Analyzing usage data and other metrics to improve data services and training, you will also participate in library projects and teams to improve these services. This role is critical to serving the MSK goals to lead in pioneering research and innovate in care delivery and education by ensuring the library’s data collections are current, accurate, and reliable so the MSK community can rely on these scholarly resources to complete their workflows. This position coordinates with other library staff to provide aligned services and education.
