Job Description

Senior Manager, Development

DigDeep

• Manage a portfolio of major donors and foundation funders, both current and prospective. • Prepare for and lead meetings with current and prospective funders for the purpose of pitching proposals, asking for donations, cultivating relationships, and stewarding long-term partnerships. • Coordinate participation of relevant staff from across the organization in funder meetings. • Work collaboratively with other staff to prepare presentations, write & submit compelling proposals, reports, and ongoing communication for major donors, foundations, and government funding partners. • Identify & conduct thorough research to identify prospective donors, assess giving capacity, and determine alignment of potential partners with DigDeep’s focus areas and funding priorities. • Support the complete lifecycle of foundation grants, including compliance, monitoring, and reporting requirements with support from the Grants & Stewardship Manager. • Assist with government grants as needed. • Manage all necessary records, files, reports, databases and resource materials pertinent to your portfolio, including grant activities, to ensure they remain up to date and accurate. • Promote high levels of engagement for funding partners by working with DigDeep’s staff to support the planning and curation of donor site visits to DigDeep’s project sites across the United States. • Build first-hand knowledge of the DigDeep model and impact by working collaboratively with other departments, participating in relevant programmatic discussions and activities, and traveling to visit project sites. • Contribute to successful development operations, which includes but is not limited to: providing timely information; responding to requests from team members regarding processes and administration; reviewing reports, as needed. • Assist with ad-hoc projects and support other tasks/duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree , or equivalent professional experience preferred
  • At least 5 years of applicable professional experience required; experience in the field of development/fundraising required; experience in major gifts and/or foundation partnerships preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google Workspace required
  • Able to focus in the face of pressure, deliver against timelines and not be intimidated by tasks/time limitations
  • Experience with Salesforce, Slack, Asana, Zoom preferred
  • High computer literacy, and tech savviness required
  • Experience/Willingness to work across various cultural contexts and communicating across cultural differences
  • Willingness to travel, including but not limited to: Navajo Nation (AZ/NM/UT), West Virginia, Texas, Los Angeles, and additional locations, as needed
