Reimagine What's Possible We have an immediate opening for a Process Controls Engineer working hybrid out of Texas City, TX. This position will be part of Air Products' Americas Operations Central Engineering - HyCO Process Controls Engineering group and will preferably be based in Texas City, TX but consideration will be given to other locations. Travel is mostly local within the Houston region, but infrequent travel may be required to other Air Products locations in North America; the incumbent should expect to travel ~ 5% of the time outside the region. Process Controls Engineers work closely with our operating facilities as the authorities in DCS, SIS, and PLC automation system build and support. They provide mentorship on instrumentation and control devices to keep our plants operating safely and provide product to our customers. S/they will work on industrial process control and safety instrumented systems in support of capital projects, standards, plant production initiatives, and reliability improvement efforts. The individual will work closely with regional process controls engineers, plant process engineers, area managers, site supervisors and operating staff. Key Job Responsibilities: - The primary responsibility for this role is to provide process control systems engineering support for our elite production facility in Texas City that includes on-site steam methane reforming (SMR), air separation (ASU), steam turbine, utilities, and ammonia production assets. Over time, the individual can be encouraged to learn and supply to multiple facilities located in the Houston area. Minimum Hiring Requirements: - Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in process automation systems and/or instrumentation engineering. - Must maintain a Valid Drivers' License, a clean driving record, and the ability to access and safely operate a reliable personal vehicle on an ongoing basis. - Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship (e.g. temporary work visa or work permit). Desired Skills: - Hands-on knowledge of control systems (DCS/PLC). Experience with Siemens PCS7 a plus. - Some knowledge of field instrumentation, including valves and transmitters. - Proficiency and experience with concepts related to level, temperature, pressure, and flow measurement. - Fundamental understanding of computer networks. - General knowledge of cybersecurity implementation relates to industrial control systems. - General knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems as applicable to Mechanical Integrity. - Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills. S/they must be capable of working in a team environment with shared responsibilities. - Effective communicator able to present sophisticated problems to a varied audience in a concise and accurate manner across the organization, including customers, vendors, management, and site personnel. Key Responsibilities: Commercial counsel in the Americas must bring a broad business orientation in engaging in the following activities: - Developing strong client relationships with business leaders (and their teams) across the enterprise and providing those clients with the highest level of service through counseling on contract interpretation, contract negotiation, review and drafting, advocacy, problem solving and education, and advising on potential risks and opportunities associated with operational and strategic decisions - Lead and manage all phases of M&A transactions, including due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, documentation and signing/closing - Draft, review, and negotiate complex transaction documents, including purchase or sale agreements, TSAs, LOIs, NDAs and ancillary closing documents - Oversee regulatory filings and compliance, including HSR/antitrust review - Advise on post-closing integration matters - Manage outside counsel and legal costs across all transactions - Collaborating with other business leaders to evaluate, manage and execute significant customer transactions or initiatives - Assisting with a range of potential projects involving capital investments and joint ventures - Partnering with the tax and finance functions on relevant transactions - Managing disputes with an eye toward avoiding litigation; drafting commercial settlement agreements - Providing advice and training to internal clients on contracting and legal compliance matters - Operating in a team environment, including regular collaboration with company attorneys Experience & Qualifications: - 15+ years of combined business and transactional experience in private practice and a corporate legal department; including mergers and acquisitions. - JD degree from an accredited U.S. law school. • Function as “lead auditor” on EH&S audits of Air Products facilities worldwide for approximately 10 – 15 facility audits each year. • Participate as an audit team member on an additional 5 -10 EH&S audits each year. • As lead auditor or audit team member, perform audits of facilities compliance to Safety requirements including those defined in Air Products’ EH&S Management system and applicable legal requirements. • Asses the risk to the corporation of noncompliance discovered during audits. • Maintains proficiency and knowledge of applicable requirements at our operating plants and maintains audit protocols for the assigned EH&S functional areas. • Communicate audit issues and trends in the above EH&S functional areas to the Process Safety and Operations teams.
