• Maintain Server Operating Systems running on physical and VM platforms. • Install, Upgrade, and Maintain Monitoring Application Software running on a variety of Operating Systems. • A solid understanding of monitoring Server Operating Systems(Windows Server, RHEL). • A solid understanding of WAN Concepts and Data Circuits (T1’s, MPLS, VPN and Enterprise VPN, Ethernet, Fiber, etc…). • A solid understanding of network devices and their function (Routers, Switches, Access Points, Firewalls). • Ability to communicate complex technical subjects to non-technical customers. • Follow agreed processes and procedures for providing solutions to customer requests or issues. • Maintain call quality standards at the level set to meet customer expectations including adherence to work schedules and standards. • Deliver customer communication to the appropriate level of understanding to ensure a successful outcome. • Document policies, procedures and issues in ticketing system as well as in internal knowledge base. • Ability to analyze and make recommendations to better assess, assist and meet the needs of internal clients. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team as required. • Demonstrate strong client relationship skills. • Willingness to work on a rotating On Call Schedule.
Job Requirements
- BA/BS Degree and 5 years or more of experience
- Master's and three (3) years or more experience
- PhD and 0 years related experience
- Current DoD 8570 IA Baseline Certification, IAT Level II (example: Security+ CE)
- Must obtain appropriate DOD 8570 IA Computing Environment Certification within 6 months of employment.
- Interim Secret Clearance required prior to start.
- Experience using Remedy or a similar ticketing system.
- Demonstrated professional experience with Windows Server 2012; Windows Server 2016.
- Demonstrated experience with VMware.
- Understanding of technology areas such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, DFS and the ability to maintain other Windows core services.
- Comprehension of NTFS file share permissions.
- Fundamental understanding of authentication mechanisms such as Kerberos and LDAP.
- Basic networking experience (TCP/IP, routing, SSH, OpenVPN).
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Knowledge of PowerShell scripting a plus.
- Cisco Telephony / Router Solutions.
- Prior USACE/ACE-IT experience.
- Experience supporting Office 365.
- Experience working in a DOD environment.
