Director, Compliance
Pearce Services
• Lead and manage compliance with NERC, FERC, and other federal electric regulatory requirements • Oversee compliance matters for NERC-registered entities and assets within X-ELIO NA • Prepare and submit timely and accurate NERC, FERC, ERCOT, PUCT, and EIA filings • Lead the preparation for audits, self-certifications, spot checks, data submittals, and self-reports • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance procedures, internal controls, and preventive measures • Maintain documentation and evidence supporting compliance with all applicable requirements • Monitor and analyze regulatory developments at NERC, ERCOT, ISO/RTOs, and other authorities, ensuring timely adaptation to new or changing rules • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess the impact of regulatory changes and coordinate compliance strategies • Participate in regulatory and reliability forums, representing the company in outreach activities • Assist in coordinating and delivering compliance training to internal contributors and stakeholders • Partner with internal groups and SMEs to resolve compliance issues and track corrective actions
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5+ years of direct experience with NERC, ERCOT, and reliability standards
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and ISO/RTO regulatory frameworks
- Proven experience managing regulatory filings, audits, and compliance programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels
- Ability to work independently, with strong initiative and accountability
- Team-oriented with proven collaboration across functions
- Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to prioritize and multitask effectively
- Highly detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to facilitate and lead cross-functional teams

Position: Environmental Compliance Project Manager Industry: Environmental Compliance / Engineering Location: Remote Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000 depending on qualifications experience Apex’s Rockies Division is expanding and is looking for an Environmental Compliance Project Manager. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-orientated and has the people and technical compliance skills needed to support and manage client projects. Your Responsibilities as an Environmental Compliance Project Manager: - Prepare environmental permits and reports for projects, facilities, and operations for clients in transportation and warehousing, construction, oil and gas, renewable energy, building management, and municipal markets. - High degree of technical competency in NPDES stormwater (construction, industrial, and MS4), dewatering, and SPCC. - Familiarity with various state specific environmental programs such as oil and gas regulations, industrial stormwater requirements, baseline water quality, and RCRA regulations. - Provide technical oversight and mentor scientific staff to ensure quality work products. Oversee water quality inspections, sampling, and development of Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC), stormwater plans and groundwater environmental compliance reports. - Client interaction and relationship development through onsite and virtual client meetings. Limited overnight travel maybe required but is not expected to exceed 5%. - Strong track record of proposal development and managing project deliverables, schedules and budgets. - Analyze environmental legislation and regulations and determine impact on client activities. - Define and develop your own professional growth with mentoring from senior managers. - Flexible working conditions. What we're looking for: - BS in chemical, environmental or civil engineering, geology, environmental science, or another related field. - 8+ years of professional experience in consulting or industry. - Fundamental understanding of requirements for SPCC inspections and stormwater inspections, monitoring, and sampling. - Proficient at independently researching, reviewing, and guiding compliance with environmental regulations at a Federal, State and Local levels; including SPCC, NPDES & discharge permitting. - Experience with water sampling for groundwater and/or surface water. - Ability to multi-task and problem solve while maintaining high-quality work and effectively managing time. - Strong communication skills, and collaborative work ethic. - Strong safety awareness, and an understanding of safe work practices. - Excellent writing and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite are required. - Professional engineering license or ability to obtain within six months of hire is a plus. - Valid driver's license and a good driving history are required. - Experience supporting clients in the Rockies with regulatory compliance is plus.
