• Maintain financial records for companies by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts. • Reconcile bank accounts by gathering and balancing information. • Provide financial status information by preparing special reports and completing special projects. • Correct errors by posting adjusting journal entries. • Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable and payable; adjusting entries for amortizations; analyzing and reconciling retained earnings; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals. • Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements. • Occasional extended business hours may be required when necessary. • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting – and +1 year experience or 3.0 GPA.
- Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Basic Knowledge of QuickBooks
- 1+ years experience working in a CPA or Bookkeeping firm
- Experience filing Sales, Payroll, and Tangible Taxes
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience processing payroll
- Intermediate Knowledge of QuickBooks
- Experience working with Creative Solutions Suite (UltraTax CS and Practice CS)
- Accounting experience working with US companies
- Advanced level of English. Must be comfortable reading, writing, and speaking to clients about accounting matters in both English and Spanish.

Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW The Senior Property Accountant ensures that the financial statements for their portfolio are completed timely and accurately. This includes a detailed review of monthly financial statements and the general ledger, along with reviewing daily transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external policies. Additionally, the Senior Property Accountant I assists the Property Management teams with the completion of Annual Budgets and Operating Expense Reconciliations. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide internal and external reporting of a portfolio/property’s financial results. Prepare the monthly financial statement packages for clients. This work includes creating and posting journal entries recorded to the general ledger, fixed asset depreciation, and amortization schedules, in-depth review of the general ledger and income statement, bank statement reconciliations, in-depth property manager variance comment review, and balance sheet reconciliations. Ensure internal and external reporting deadlines are met. - Work with Property Management personnel to provide an in-depth analysis of the project’s financial performance. Interact frequently via verbal and written communication with the property management team and the Property Manager(s). - Interact with Clients as needed on basic/intermediate issues. Include supervisor or manager on complex or advanced issues. - Support the budgeting process and expense reconciliation preparation review of data at a basic/intermediate level with limited direction from the manager. - Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports and analyses with limited direction from the manager. - Act as an internal and external customer service leader and assist the supervisor/manager with more complex issues. - Share knowledge with team members and act as a resource to Property Accountants. - Prepare and submit Sales & Use Tax returns, as applicable. - Manage and review the cash accounts of each project/property; Ensure critical, timely payment of utilities, taxes, mortgages, and owner distributions. - Review and post cash receipts as needed. - Review payables. Process vendor invoices for payment as needed. - Ensure compliance with SOC I requirements. - Other projects and duties as assigned. • Oversee full-charge accounting, managing general accounting, and reporting for client organizations • Record transactions related to monthly close and reconciliations timely and accurately • Daily transaction entries including cash receipts, invoices, journal entries • Ensure timely client invoicing for direct client expenses • Reconciliation of third-party transaction portals to Accounting System • Maintain and reconcile general ledger, bank accounts, and fixed assets • Prepare for year-end audit, including financial schedules • Records and reconciles client accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP standards • Review all month-end entries to ensure proper recording of all transactions • Develops understanding of the association client's business to provide accurate and in-depth analysis and financial guidance
• Review and finalize transactions related to monthly close timely and accurately. • Ensure revenue and expenses are recorded in proper accounting period utilizing information provided by client team. • Maintain and reconcile general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations. • Prepare monthly client billing based on contractual fees and direct expenses. • Maintain client files and reports to Senior Leadership. • Ensure collection of Accounts Receivable in coordination with Leadership and client staff. • Ensure proper coding and processing of Accounts Payable in coordination with staff accountants. • Prepare complete, accurate, and timely financial statements and variance analyses for multiple clients. • Coordinate with Senior staff to ensure up to date maintenance of financial policies, procedures, and controls. • Prepare for year-end audit, including financial schedules and providing information as requested to auditors. • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. • Develops an understanding of the association client's business to provide accurate and in-depth analysis and financial guidance in coordination with the Accounting Manager. • Lead improvements in financial processes. • Participate in Client meetings supporting Senior Leadership and client staff.
• Ensure completion of monthly accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaid expenses and gross margin analysis. • Prepare, analyze, and review general ledger account reconciliations as part of the month-end close process. • Provide in- depth analysis to assist in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements. • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as state and local compliance requirements including sales tax. • Perform accounting and financial analyses to identify key trends and support critical estimates, such as accruals and reserves. • Collaborate cross functionally and serve as a business partner to aid in the preparation and reporting of financial results. • Provide audit assistance- supporting information, PBC schedules, and explanations as needed. • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Corporate Finance Team
