The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering professional consulting services to our key clients. The individual who occupies this role will work on a part-time basis of 20 hours a week. The individual who occupies this role will work in a remote work location. The successful candidate will provide technical skills leading and supporting projects within the department and will develop strong relationships with the team and clients to enable pursuit of new opportunities. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as part of a project team. The successful candidate will be committed to the team's success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System. The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following: • Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects. • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise. • Approves and signs off on work. • Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts. • Presents complex technical solutions to clients. • Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others. • Participates in development of technical proposals. • Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: - BA/BS in Civil Engineering + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. - Professional Engineer licensed in GA, or EIT with intent to obtain PE in near future. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Masters Degree in Civil Engineering - 9+ years of relevant experience at an engineering consulting firm. - Ability to proactively lead technical efforts and project team staff. - Experience as Senior Project Engineer on large scale projects, including landfills, material excavation and dewatering, and coal ash closure. The Opportunity Current Hydro is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join our team. This is a remote, full-time position. The civil engineer will be responsible for: - Working closely with the team’s engineering disciplines (architectural, civil/structural, hydrotechnical, mechanical, and electrical) to lead the civil design and layout of new hydropower facilities. - Performing engineering analyses, preparing concepts and details, and directing preparation of design drawings in 2D and 3D environments utilizing AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Revit. Under the direction of a Geotechnical Engineering Manager, this individual will provide geotechnical engineering and project site support for projects in the Energy, Transportation and Community Development business units.
