• Lead advanced research initiatives to explore emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices that can be leveraged within our product verticals. • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams without direct management responsibility. • Organize training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing events to enhance the technical skills and architectural understanding of the development team. • Support career development of engineering team members through coaching and feedback, helping to build a strong talent pipeline. • Collaborate with the CTO, and business stakeholders to define a long-term innovation strategy that aligns with the company’s vision and market demands. • Develop and continuously refine a long-term technical roadmap, incorporating emerging technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance product offerings. • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools that align with the company’s strategic goals and improve operational efficiency. • Identify opportunities for innovation in product features and enhancements, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to deliver competitive advantages. • Collaborate with product management, engineering, and customer success to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and architecture designs. • Facilitate cross-functional workshops and brainstorming sessions to align teams on architectural direction and priorities. • Serve as a technical advisor to engineering, product, and operations teams, helping to resolve complex architectural challenges. • Establish and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and guidelines for software development, deployment, and operations to ensure high-quality software delivery across all products and platforms. • Implement processes which ensure architectural alignment and adherence to best practices and standards. • Develop and maintain architectural documentation, including diagrams, design patterns, and decision logs, to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing across teams. • Represent the company at industry conferences, workshops, and seminars to share insights, gather feedback, and foster partnerships that advance our technology initiatives. • Stay abreast of industry advancements and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in software engineering, research and development, or related fields, preferably within the SaaS or utilities industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in software architecture, cloud computing, data analytics, and emerging technologies relevant to the utilities sector.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of identifying and addressing complex technical challenges.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Innovation Mindset: A passion for innovation, research, and continuous learning, with a willingness to challenge the status quo.
