Overview Our Product Operations Associate role is suited for the “all-around athlete” type who can do it all and wants exposure to a range of problems and opportunities. You’ll become an expert on nearly all parts of our product and a go-to problem-solver for the organization. Day to Day The Product Operations team sits at the intersection of Product and Operations (as the name suggests), and we have 3 core responsibilities: - The first is making sure customers and the support team are prepared for new product releases. This involves drafting announcements, writing help articles, creating and refining scalable SOPs, and owning rollout coordination. - The second is supporting the product team by finding bugs and pitching improvements. So you’ll be auditing support tickets, calling customers, testing the app, creating small PRs for engineering review (with the help of AI), and delivering findings to Product Managers (PMs) through clear and concise writing. - And third, you’ll be flexing in wherever the business needs you. This could mean testing a new notification strategy, creating product training for sales teams, or setting up an AI agent to reduce manual workloads. We’ll support you wherever your curiosity takes you! Your first few days will be a crash course on our product and our customers. You’ll speak directly with customers to learn about what they love and what they don’t love about Clipboard, review documents to learn how we operate and communicate, and dig into customer issues by auditing support tickets and exploring our products yourself. Who We’re Looking For We find those who are most successful in this type of role: - Are insatiably curious. Curiosity sits atop our company values, and it will be the strongest indicator of success in this role. If you have a natural and unwavering ability to keep asking questions and digging, you’ll go far. - Write clearly, concisely, and persuasively. Being a mostly remote company, we rely heavily on communicating your ideas through writing. You should be able to write a memo that people can read, understand, and buy into quickly and easily. - Roll up their sleeves and go to the source. Don’t just take someone’s word for it – go find out yourself by testing the feature, listening to the agent call, calling the customer, or executing the workflow. This is how you seek truth. - Bounce back from failure quickly. You’ll make mistakes, move in the wrong direction, and stumble from time-to-time. Just avoid big mistakes, don’t make the same mistakes twice, and learn from them quickly. - Have some technical/coding capabilities. You don’t have to be an expert, but you should be able to understand how to read and debug a SQL query or Python script. You should also be able to differentiate between easy and hard engineering tasks so you can make product suggestions that are grounded in reality. Hiring Process - Application - Case Study - Case Interview with a Product Ops team member - Interview with Alex Dettmer, Head of Worker Experience - Interview with Samay Jhunjhunwalla, Head of Operations - Interview with one of our Co-CEOs, Bo Lu or Wei Deng - Ap Interview with one of our Co-CEOs, Bo Lu or Wei Deng *After submitting your application, please check your spam folder periodically over the next few days for updates.

In this AI‑forward role you will modernize how we build products, driving the R&D operating rhythm, executive communications, and driving alignment across the Engineering, Product, and Design leadership. In this AI‑forward role, you will ensure efficiency across the Product Lifecycle (PDLC), manage and coach R&D teams on key product tools, and provide essential data and enablement support to the Product Management, Design, Engineering, and Customer Experience teams, ensuring predictable execution, internal clarity and high-quality outcomes. Who will love this job - A multiplier – You thrive on making the CPO and CTO more effective. You are a "force multiplier" who can translate high-level vision into operational reality, ensuring the leadership team's intent is felt throughout the entire R&D organization. - A strategic architect – You enjoy designing the "operating system" of a large organization. You don’t just follow a process; you build and support the rhythms—from All-Hands to Quarterly Business Reviews—that drive clarity, accountability, and high-velocity decision-making. - An AI‑forward operator – You see AI as a core ingredient in how modern product organizations run. You use AI to accelerate planning, documentation, execution tracking, and reporting — and you help others do the same. - A diplomat – You are an expert at navigating complex organizational dynamics, drive alignment across Engineering, Product, and Design, acting as a trusted proxy for leadership and a neutral bridge between functions. - A master of narrative – You are a world-class communicator who can synthesize complex technical and product data into compelling stories. Whether it's a Board deck, a company-wide memo, or an All-Hands presentation, you ensure the R&D strategy is understood and inspiring. - A change evangelist – You inspire people to adopt new tools and processes. You design training, feedback loops, and incentives that turn new ways of working into durable habits. What you’ll do Strategic Leadership & Executive Operations - R&D Operating Rhythm: Design and lead the "Heartbeat" of the organization, including All-Hands, Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), and Leadership Offsites. Ensure these forums move from "status reporting" to "strategic decision-making." - Executive Proxy: Act as a confidential sounding board and proxy for the CPO/CTO, attending meetings on their behalf and ensuring their strategic intent is understood and executed. - Decision Framing: Prepare clear options, tradeoffs, and recommendations for Product and R&D leadership decisions. Execution Accountability: Drive follow-through on executive decisions by translating them into clear actions, owners, and success metrics. - Strategic Planning: Lead the annual and quarterly planning cycles (Headcount, Budget, OKRs) in partnership with Finance and HR to ensure R&D resources are mapped to the highest-priority bets. - Special Projects: Lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that fall outside the standard product roadmap (e.g., organizational design, M&A integration, or culture-building programs). Process & System Management - Modernize and standardize the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) across R&D, embedding AI into key workflows (e.g., AI‑assisted discovery, requirements writing, risk surfacing, and status summaries) to increase team velocity and predictability. Identify operational friction points and inconsistencies, escalating necessary process adjustments to Product leadership. - Strategic Alignment Support: Support the enforcement of governance checkpoints and assist Product Managers in ensuring their roadmaps and feature development efforts are clearly mapped to the 3 Strategic Product Pillars. - Own and govern the R&D product tech stack (e.g., Jira, Jira Product Discovery, Amplitude), defining schemas, workflows, taxonomies, and governance that ensure clean, consistent data and unlock AI‑assisted insights and automation. - Establish disciplined operational protocols for how teams use tools — from backlog hygiene to instrumentation — so data is trustworthy and can be reused across planning, reporting, and analysis. - Operationalize Data-Driven Product Culture: Manage the day-to-day data collection, reporting, and training programs related to product analytics tools (Amplitude). This includes managing the process for intake and synthesis of qualitative user research (in partnership with Design and Product teams) and feedback data to ensure insights are easily accessible for product discovery. Support the vision for a product org that turns user behavior insights into action. - Manage and mentor a Product Operations Specialist, setting clear goals, providing continuous feedback, and fostering their professional growth. - Performance & Metrics Management: Ensure teams consistently execute the operational cadence of collecting, aggregating, and visualizing Product OKRs and KPIs, ensuring timely and accurate reporting for the leadership team. - Own the operational budget for the R&D organization and define the multi-year Product tech stack strategy, influencing the Engineering tech stack for seamless integration. - Voice of Customer / Customer Feedback Programs: Collaboration on execution of customer engagement programs (e.g., Beta programs, Virtual Advisory Meetings, Community engagement, UserVoice, etc.) and inform best practices for the documentation, analysis, and action planning of feature validation and enhancements. - Risk and Audit Monitoring: Monitor and track key product risks (e.g., EOL dates, migration dependencies), maintaining a central log and escalating critical issues to the leadership team - Product Management Enablement: Develop, coordinate, and deliver internal education and training materials to improve product management skill sets across Product, Design, and Customer Experience teams. Execution & Enablement - Operating Rhythm Coordination: Coordinate and facilitate the established cross-functional operating rhythm, ensuring meetings (planning, collaboration sessions) are scheduled, run efficiently, and decisions are clearly documented. - Product Knowledge Management: Own and maintain the central repository of product documents (e.g., PRDs, specs, user research findings, strategic decisions) to ensure Product Managers and cross-functional partners have a single, easily searchable source of truth. - Roadmap Communication: Work closely with Product Marketing to manage the internal distribution of the roadmap and assist in preparing external roadmap communications for customers (where relevant). - Internal GTM Readiness: Manage the internal enablement process for all new feature availability, ensuring GTM teams (Sales, Support, Customer Success) have necessary training materials and documentation. - Customer Release Coordination: Collaborate with the Product Marketing and Content Design teams to coordinate and execute the monthly customer release process, including managing the creation and distribution of customer-facing release notes. Partner closely with Engineering to align on release timing and freeze dates, ensure risks or blockers are clearly communicated across teams, and maintain a consistent, predictable release cadence. - Executive Support: Support Product Executives by preparing presentations, collecting performance data, and assisting with strategic documentation (e.g., Board meeting materials, QBR decks). You should have - Minimum 5+ years of operational experience in Program Management, Project Management, or a dedicated Product Operations role, ideally within a SaaS environment. - Proven experience as an administrator or power user of Jira (or similar product development tools), including managing workflows, screens, and custom fields. - Proven experience modernizing operational workflows with AI — for example, using AI to accelerate planning, documentation, analytics, or reporting in a product or engineering context. - Strong familiarity with product analytics tools (e.g., Jira, Jira Product Discovery, Amplitude) and experience generating reports and dashboards based on user behavior data. - Excellent organizational and process management skills with an ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives. - Demonstrated ability to drive operational consistency and communicate process changes effectively across various internal teams; you know how to earn trust, handle resistance, and turn pilots into durable ways of working. - Proven experience partnering with senior leaders to design and run operating rhythms, planning cycles, and executive reviews. - Track record of strong collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders. - Your own unique talents! About the Job: We're looking for a Product Operations Lead to help our product organization run at its best. You'll report directly to our SVP of Product & Design and work at the intersection of product, engineering, design, sales, and customer success—making sure the right information reaches the right people at the right time, and that our teams can focus on building great software. We have strong product and engineering teams, solid planning rhythms, and a release process that works. What we need is someone who can take what's working, make it better, fill in the gaps, and bring the operational rigor that helps a growing company keep shipping with speed and clarity as we scale. We need to person who keeps our product machine well-tuned and empowers everyone else do their best work. This is a senior individual contributor role and our first dedicated Product Ops hire. You'll be building the function itself from scratch, but you'll be doing it within a product org that already has strong foundations. As we grow, you'll likely add one or two team members over the next year. If you're the kind of person who sees friction in a process and can't help but smooth it out—and you believe AI should be doing the repetitive work that slows product teams down—this role was made for you. Responsibilities: Make the product development lifecycle run smoothly. We have a working process for how we plan, build, and ship. Your job is to make it better. Identify bottlenecks, streamline handoffs, improve the templates and rituals that teams rely on, and continuously raise the bar on how efficiently we turn customer needs into shipped software. Be the connective tissue across the company. Help coordinate across Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success so that launches are well-communicated, feedback loops are tight, and nobody is surprised. You won't own every launch—PMs drive their own—but you'll own the process, tooling, and cross-functional coordination so they can do it well. Strengthen our voice-of-customer systems. Work with PMs, Sales, Support, and CS to improve how we aggregate, synthesize, and route customer feedback. Help make sure our roadmap reflects what customers actually need by ensuring the signal is clear and accessible to the people making prioritization decisions. Build the metrics and dashboards that make the work visible. Partner with product and analytics teams to define and track the operational KPIs that tell us whether our product machine is healthy—cycle times, launch effectiveness, adoption metrics, NPS trends. Give leaders the information they need to make good decisions. Bring AI into everything. Identify and implement AI-powered tools and workflows that eliminate toil across the product org. Whether it's automating status rollups, synthesizing customer feedback at scale, or streamlining release coordination—if a human shouldn't be doing it manually, find a better way. Enable our go-to-market teams. Work closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Marketing to make sure they have the product context, competitive intelligence, and launch materials they need to win enterprise deals. You're not building the sales deck—you're making sure the right information flows to the people who do. About You: - 8 years of experience in product operations, program management, or a similar role in a B2B SaaS environment. You've seen what good looks like at scale. - A track record of improving how product teams work—not just running processes, but making them meaningfully better. - Deep cross-functional fluency. You can earn trust and drive alignment with engineers, designers, PMs, sales reps, and executives—without needing to own every outcome yourself. - A collaborative, enabling mindset. You thrive by making the people around you more effective, not by accumulating ownership. - Strong analytical chops. You're comfortable with data, dashboards, and using metrics to tell a story and drive action. SQL or BI tool experience is a plus. - Hands-on experience with AI and automation tools. You don't just talk about AI—you've actually used it to make teams more productive. - Excellent communication skills. You can distill complexity into clarity, whether you're writing a launch brief or presenting to the exec team. - Comfort with ambiguity. This is a new function at a company that moves fast. You'll need to figure things out as you go and be energized by that. Bonus Points Experience in developer tools, DevOps, or infrastructure software. You understand how software gets built and released because you've been close to it. Engineering background or technical degree. You can read a product spec and an architecture doc with equal comfort. Familiarity with feature management, progressive delivery, or experimentation platforms. Experience enabling enterprise sales teams with product positioning, competitive intel, or technical content. Why This Role Matters LaunchDarkly is at an inflection point. We're re-accelerating growth, expanding our platform, and building for an AI-native future. Our product organization is strong, and we want to keep it that way as we scale. This role exists to make sure our best people can do their best work—to reduce friction, improve visibility, and keep the distance between a customer need and a shipped solution as short as possible. If that sounds like a puzzle worth solving, we'd love to hear from you.
