People Operations Manager
Nift
• Own onboarding and offboarding across the U.S. PEO and international EORs; manage role changes, promotions, compensation updates, PIPs, and terminations • Serve as first-line point of contact for employee questions or issues; support investigations (performance concerns, complaints); partnering with Legal on sensitive employee matters and exits • Act as day-to-day owner of the U.S. Rippling PEO relationship (benefits, payroll coordination, compliance) • Manage Rippling EOR internationally (contracts, benefits explanations, local compliance); troubleshoot cross-border issues without unnecessary escalation • Handle employment verification, documentation, personnel files, and maintain clean records across all jurisdictions; ensure documentation is complete, defensible, audit-ready, and compliant • Own annual benefits renewal and employee communications • Maintain compensation bands and benchmarking (Radford, Pave, Carta, etc.); support offer and promotion compensation decisions with data • Design and run performance review cycles (annual or biannual); build simple, durable HR processes managers can actually use
Job Requirements
- 5–10+ years of hands-on HR / People Operations experience
- Direct experience managing both U.S. PEO and at least one international EOR
- Deep familiarity with benefits, compensation, and performance cycles
- Experience handling terminations and sensitive employee matters independently
- Strong preference for startup or high-growth company experience (25–150 employees)
- Experience building scalable processes from scratch
- Comfortable partnering closely with Finance and Legal
- You operate with good judgment— simplifying instead of over-engineering, knowing when to escalate (and when not to), and leaving processes cleaner than you found them
- Ownership Mindset: Proactive and self-driven with a strong sense of initiative, consistently taking responsibility, and exceeds expectations
Benefits
- Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits (401(k) with 4% match, Medical/Dental/Vision)
