Position Overview The Director of Revenue Recognition is a key member of the CFO’s leadership team and serves as the organization’s subject matter expert on all revenue accounting matters. This role oversees the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of the Company’s revenue reporting—both internal and external—and ensures adherence to GAAP, regulatory requirements, and Joint Venture (JV) requirements. The Director partners closely with leaders across Revenue Cycle, Managed Care, IT, FP&A, and the Central Billing Office (CBO) to drive operational excellence, enhance revenue performance, and support strategic decision‑making. The ideal candidate is a proactive, analytical, and collaborative leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. They bring deep technical expertise in revenue recognition, strong business acumen, and a solid understanding of healthcare revenue cycle operations and managed care arrangements. Essential Job Functions Revenue Recognition & Reporting - Lead the monthly revenue close process for the Company’s patient revenues across all Joint Ventures, ensuring accurate and timely recognition in accordance with GAAP and ASC 606. - Provide mid‑month projections to support financial visibility and decision‑making. - Oversee the use of Workday Prism and Accounting Center to calculate, record, and analyze revenue, including contractual adjustments and accounts receivable reserves. - Analyze and report on core revenue metrics, including volume, payor mix, acuity, rate, reserves, and gross charges, to deliver clear insights into performance trends. - Oversee the timely and accurate maintenance of revenue‑related accruals, reserves, and associated balance sheet accounts, ensuring proper documentation, reconciliation, and adherence to GAAP. - Deliver clear, actionable insights on revenue trends, variances, and KPIs to executive leadership, investors, lenders, and JV partners. Modeling, Analytics & Data Integrity - Own the development, enhancement, and governance of revenue models, databases, and analytical tools that support revenue reporting and forecasting. - Identify emerging issues or negative trends and recommend strategies to optimize collections and maximize revenue realization. - Maintain a strong accounting and data‑quality control environment to support accurate reporting, forecasting, and model integrity. Cross‑Functional Leadership & Systems Enablement - Partner with the CBO, Managed Care, and IT to design and implement systems, tools, and processes that strengthen revenue recognition and AR management. - Provide GAAP expertise to support new system implementations, process redesigns, and policy development. - Ensure all revenue‑related systems and processes remain compliant with accounting standards and internal controls. Strategic Advisory & Technical Accounting - Advise senior leadership on revenue accounting implications of new business initiatives, JV structures, and strategic partnerships. - Serve as the organization’s technical accounting expert for revenue recognition, including evaluation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements. - Prepare GAAP‑compliant revenue footnote disclosures for annual audits and support all revenue‑related audit activities. Budgeting & Forecasting - Lead the revenue budgeting and forecasting process for the Company and its Joint Ventures, collaborating closely with FP&A. - Provide scenario modeling and revenue insights to support strategic planning and operational decision‑making. Other Job Functions - Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and cross‑functional collaboration. - Support enterprise‑wide initiatives, special projects, and ad hoc analysis as needed. - Participate in leadership meetings and company‑wide initiatives. - Lead performance management for direct reports, including annual reviews and professional development plans. - Perform other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in accounting; Master’s degree preferred - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - Minimum 9 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role. - Advanced proficiency in data modeling and analytical design, with the ability to build, evaluate, and optimize revenue‑related models - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. What You Bring to the Table: - 8–12+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Sales Effectiveness, Enablement, or Revenue Operations. - 3–5+ years in a leadership role managing teams and complex initiatives. - Experience supporting field-based sales organizations (telecom, fiber, cable, preferred). - Hands-on experience with CRM and sales technology stacks (Salesforce strongly preferred). - Experience supporting new market expansion and high‑growth scaling initiatives, with an understanding of the operational and strategic requirements for rapid deployment is preferred. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights - Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive change across teams - Ability to operate within multi‑channel sales environments, spanning residential, SMB, and enterprise segments. - Ability to develop strategic and tactical playbooks that drive consistent execution across diverse sales channels. - Proficiency in promoting adoption of tools, processes, and enablement programs, ensuring teams are equipped for success. - Strong organizational, detail‑orientation, and process‑management skills, ensuring operational consistency and accuracy. Education: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Bachelor's degree preferred. Major in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related fields. - MBA or advanced degree is a plus. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, relevant skills, experience, and capabilities.
