Summary This role will be responsible for supporting the quality and food safety needs of the global business. This position, as part of the Quality Department, will lead in the collection, analysis and interpretation of complex data from a variety of data management sources (e.g., databases, Application Program Interfaces/APIs, etc.), in support of each Business Unit (Chobani, La Colombe, Daily Harvest), to help the Corporate and Site Quality Teams to monitor products/processes, seek out hidden insights/patterns/trends in data and improve operational processes. This role will lead in creating machine-learning models, visualizing results and reporting key learnings to stakeholders in order to not only assist in root cause analyses but also make informed decisions on how to prevent product and process non-conformances and to preserve and protect product quality and food safety. This role combines data analysis with food science expertise to drive innovation and efficiency in business. This role will preferably sit in Twin Falls, Idaho, but we are open to remote candidates who can frequently travel to Twin Falls, Idaho. Responsibilities • Collaborate with data owners to improve data management processes. • Collect data through means such as analyzing business results or by setting up and managing new studies • Employ statistical and machine learning methods to analyze and evaluate data to uncover insights that measure product and process performance and inform business decisions. • Create and update dashboards and reports to monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and update stakeholders on progress and performance. • Search through large data sets to extract data insights and trends related to food products, manufacturing processes, and consumer behavior. • Correlate similar data to find actionable results and provide insights to Global and Regional Quality groups. • Collaborate with IT Business Intelligence Team to seek out and develop tools/programming to automate data collection. Create forecasting and optimization models that can be used for predictive analytics. • Lead in shaping the digital Quality & Food Safety strategy (e.g., Supply Chain data analytics/predictive quality, data access, data cleansing, systems harmonization). Requirements • Bachelor's or (optional) Master's degree in a quantitative subject such as statistics, computer science, mathematics, physics, or engineering. • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in data analytics (NOTE: Prior experience in food industry preferred). • Well-versed in a variety of statistical methods, such as hypothesis testing, time series analysis, and regression analysis. • Fluent in programming languages. Working knowledge of libraries for manipulating data is also required. • Experience with data management tools (e.g., SQL), visualization tools (e.g., Power BI), and AI. • Knowledge of database management systems, data warehousing, and Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) techniques. • Knowledge and understanding of systems and application knowledge, such as SAP, Microsoft Office (including SharePoint), LIMS, etc. • Knowledge of business strategy and how data can be used to drive decision-making. • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with large data sets. • Ability to visualize data in the most effective way for a given project or study. • Strong communication skills to convey complex data in a simple/non-technical, actionable way. • Exceptional technical writing skills • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities/projects and deliver within deadlines. • Ability to work independently and with team members from different departments/functions to create and implement solutions informed by data. • Excellent attention to detail. • Dedicated to keeping pace with the ever-evolving technologies and techniques used in the industry. • Conduct data-related tasks in accordance with applicable laws and ethical principles.
