Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (Backend)

Role Description We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer (Backend) to join a team building a high-scale betting platform. You will help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of distributed systems powering real-time betting experiences. In this role, you will play a key part in defining and implementing the test automation strategy, while working in a fast-paced environment where quality, speed, and continuous delivery are essential. Expected travelling time (UK and USA): 0%-15%, varies according to project/client. You will be working with teams across different time zones and locations. Qualifications - Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer / Quality Engineer in complex software development projects. - Experience with both manual and automated testing. - Ability to write and maintain test automation scripts. - Working knowledge of a programming language such as Java. - Experience testing microservices or service-oriented architectures. - Strong experience with API testing (REST). - Understanding of data flow across distributed systems. - Experience with test-driven practices (BDD or ATDD). - Familiarity with version control systems such as Git. - Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins. - Strong communication and collaboration skills. Requirements - Nice to Have: - Experience with Datadog, a tool used for monitoring, investigating issues, and analyzing logs. - Experience testing event-driven architectures using Kafka. - Experience working with cloud environments such as AWS. - Familiarity with BrowserStack for cross-browser testing. - Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible. - Experience in high-traffic or real-time platforms (e.g., betting, gaming, fintech). Job Description Summary In this role, the Engineer will provide day-to-day support of GVH projects and assists in the development of the Equipment Qualification Programs to meet the established regulatory requirements. Works in close consultation with Engineering staff to ensure regulatory requirements are identified and implemented in accordance with GVH design and licensing strategy. Assists in defining and executing the design and licensing strategy for Equipment Qualification Programs and participates in interactions with the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission including pre-application discussions, preparing/reviewing topical reports and other reactor licensing documentation, and responding to requests for additional information. Job Description Essential Responsibilities - Assisting in the successful design and implementation of the equipment qualification program. - Coordinating with design personnel to ensure new designs and design changes meet Equipment Qualification Program regulatory requirements. - Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining licensing documentation in compliance with Equipment Qualification Programs, regulations and strict quality assurance standards. - Interfacing with technical discipline teams at GVH, partners and contractors. - Reviewing correspondence to and from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. - Assisting with safety analysis report (SAR) revisions and preparation. - Preparing or reviewing equipment qualification regulatory evaluations. - Have excellent technical problem solving skills; to be able to assess problems thoroughly and drive logical conclusions (i.e. common sense approach, not embarrassed to ask the “obvious” questions). - Demonstrate ownership, proactively communicate, and deliver assignments on time. - Prepare and present technical data to co-workers and customers. - Perform qualification tests and maintain a high level of accuracy when recording data and preparing test reports. - Be willing to occasionally travel domestically and internationally to support customer / supplier meetings. Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college. - 5 years of experience in development and implementation of equipment qualification. - 5 years of experience in nuclear industry activities related to equipment qualification.
