Role Description The Manager, Software Development is a hands-on technical lead responsible for the day-to-day management of a development team. Working closely with Product and other Development teams, this role executes the company’s technical, architectural, and commercial product initiatives by taking an active role with the team. The Manager will be responsible for both technical roadmap/design as well as people management, including mentoring and career guidance. A successful candidate in this role would assume leadership in delivering customer outcomes with a focus on building modern delivery pipelines in a high-availability platform. This role will lead a high-impact team through the product development lifecycle by being an active contributor of production-quality code, with up to 50% of the time focused on development. This role works in an Agile environment, working with the team to lead continuous improvement using data-driven decisions through iterative development. Responsibilities - Lead by example: Hands-on in design, coding, and shipping high-quality software using Angular (front end) and Java (back end), on AWS – utilizing services such as RDS, Elastic Search, Redis, MongoDB, S3, DynamoDB, Step Function, Lambda and others. - Collaborate with the Development, Product, and Architecture teams to drive the software development lifecycle, iterating quickly to deliver high-impact solutions to Production with high quality. - Ensure engineering excellence by maintaining adherence to standards around robustness, resiliency, high-availability, scaling, and utilization of modern delivery pipelines. - Plan and execute a timely release process with all stakeholders including necessary communication. - Mentor and grow developers through coaching, feedback, and amplifying technical vision from the Enterprise Architecture team. - Establish roadmaps and resourcing needs across multiple teams. - Champion and educate the organization on Agile best practices, new frameworks, processes, architectural standards, design patterns and solutions. - Balance speed and quality by utilizing industry-standard measurements such as Cycle Time, Lead Time to Change, and Deployment frequency to identify roadblocks. - Ensure the proper technical design required to positively impact measurements. - Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. - Assess risks and dependencies and hold teams accountable to high standards through leading by example. - Drive incident response for the team, including on-call coverage, technical response and provide technical resolution to production issues. Qualifications - Computer Science or related degree, or a combination of education and related experience. - 3+ years of prior software development management experience. - Hands-on experience with container orchestration and deployment. - Experience being the technical lead on a team that produces high quality deliverables. - Proven ability to mentor engineers and conduct thoughtful, constructive code reviews. - Excellent understanding of Agile development processes and the ability to champion them with the team. Preferred Experience - Familiarity with Infrastructure as code (Terraform or Cloud Formation). - Familiarity with AWS Step Functions, or serverless orchestration patterns. - Knowledge of observability tools. - Prior work in a distributed global development team. Estimated Salary Range $128,000 - $170,000 plus bonus. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees. • Lead a cross-functional AI product engineering team, owning strategy and execution across multiple Copilot experiences • Drive technical direction and product evolution for the AI stack, inference backend, user-facing AI products • Interface closely with the AI Research and Model Training team to align on model capabilities, evaluation methodology, data/training pipelines, and the productionization path for new models and techniques • Oversee infrastructure, on-call rotations, and operational processes. • Operate in a player-coach model, contributing 50% of your time to hands-on engineering: • Writing evals • Testing and debugging features • Occasionally contributing to inference stack development • This position will require stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties

• Help shape and guide the vision for the JVM Ecosystem Team. • Enable a simple, performant, and seamless development experience for JVM developers. • Manage Application build process (Gradle & Nebula). • Optimize for JVM performance and configuration needs. • Manage Build artifact management, including Library SDLC JDK ownership. • Make decisions around default JVM settings for Netflix applications & services. • Provide insight and tooling for JVM applications. • Coordinate outreach with the OpenJDK community.
