Marketing Intern for Curbside Bicycles (Local Startup) - Spring & Summer 2026

Department Overview: Curbside Bicycles is the fastest growing bicycle repair business in Dane County. Started in 2020 during the pandemic - we now service hundreds of neighborhoods, apartments/condos, businesses, farmer's markets, and events with convenient same-day turnaround bike tune-ups. Our main branch is in Madison, WI with a secondary branch in Chicago and a winter branch in Arizona. Sights are set on the Twin Cities for the next branch location Anticipated Start Date: February 2026 Anticipated End Date (If Applicable): September 2026 (with potential to continue into Fall semester and beyond) Remote Work Eligibility Detail: All Remote Anticipated Hours Per Week: Minimum: 5 Maximum: 15 Schedule: Remote work, but preference given to students still living in Madison over the summer. 5 to 15 hours/week. Flexible based on student needs Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum: $15.00 Number of Positions: 1 Qualifications: - Work-Study Required - Preferrably pursuing a Bachelor's in a related field (Business, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Communications, Operations & Technology Management, etc.) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Self-motivated - Critical Thinking & Creativity: Duties may include coming up with creative ways to advertise the business, generate new leads, reach out to prospective leads, etc. - Familiar with Facebook & Instagram and ready to assist with running ad campaigns - Familiarity with Google Ads not necessary but would be a plus - Ability to use Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Drive Position Summary/Job Duties: - Managing & Growing Curbside Bicycles' Facebook and Instagram accounts for the Madison Branch - Potentially running paid ad campaigns on Facebook and Google Adwords (depending on experience) - Identify & connect with apartments/condos/businesses in the Madison and Chicago area for the purposes of partnering. This will include developing a list of prospective leads and reaching out/following-up - Help with community outreach in Madison and Chicago Physical Demands: Ability to walk and bike. Essential Functions - Under the direction of the head of strategic communications, create content extending key messages across Versant Health’s internal channels. - Manage content for ongoing initiatives and make updates to improve engagement on companywide intranet platform. - Draft initial content and campaign outlines, inclusive of design concepts, to present to team and stakeholders for refinement and publication. - Maintain and organize shared communications resources such as messaging documents, story libraries, graphics libraries, resources, and announcements. - Support cohesive design and narrative integration across internal and external channels. - Provide production support for 2nd quarter virtual companywide quarterly Town Hall. - Collaboratively work through communication review cycles with business owners and senior leaders. - Support the marketing and communications team in daily administrative tasks. Qualifications - Must be currently enrolled in an Undergraduate degree program. - Master’s degree candidates also accepted. - Preferred field of study: - Communications (concentrations including strategic or corporate communications, communication management). - Marketing (concentrations that include digital content, digital marketing/strategy, content marketing). - Required undergrad school classifications: Current Juniors and Seniors only. - Required GPA: 3.0 and above. Experience - Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar programs/applications (i.e., familiarity with SharePoint, Outlook, PowerPoint, and OneDrive or similar programs/applications such as Google Drive). - Strong writing skills. - Experience in publishing content (i.e., articles, blogs, newsletters, etc.). - Basic knowledge of design software/programs, especially Canva – Adobe Creative Suite is a bonus. - Familiarity with virtual environments. - (Preferred) Strong comfort level with web content management systems.
