Director, Business Development – Military Systems Integrators
Satcom Direct
• Responsible for developing a go-to-market plan in the United States, specifically to address the sale of SATCOM equipment and airtime into large US defense primes, involved with Mil/Gov aircraft • Build and develop a pipeline, to support the closing of near to medium term new business, in accordance with the company financial targets • Schedule and attend on-site customer demos in partnership with the pre-sales engineering team • Use entrepreneurial 'flair' to create compelling and innovative commercial proposals • Partner with various internal groups (e.g., Engineering, pricing, marketing) when developing new proposals and commercial offers • Represent SDG at various regional events, trade shows and conferences to promote our products, increase market awareness and develop new relationships • Work autonomously with minimal supervision (post initial onboarding training and familiarisation period) while maintaining good communication with the wider team • Maintain CRM and provide regular and accurate opportunity and pipeline status’
Job Requirements
- 7-12 years of experience either working for or selling into a large US-based OEM
- 5-7 years of B2B or B2G sales experience in a related field (e.g. Avionics)
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Ability to build and develop strong relationships, both internally and externally
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
- High quality proposal writing and commercial acumen
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision-making, oral, and written communication skills.

Job Description THE OPPORTUNITY Silvus is seeking a Market Development Executive (MDE), US Army and USSOCOM who will report to the Vice President of Strategic Growth on the Sales team. The successful individual in this role will be responsible for the dual-mission of shaping requirements across both the U.S. Army and U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) enterprises. The focus is on embedding Silvus Technologies into the future Programs of Record for both conventional Army modernization and specialized Special Operations Forces (SOF) mission sets. This role focuses on shaping demand and cultivating enduring advocacy for Silvus Technologies - enabling downstream capture and sales success by the Business Development and Account Sales teams. This position is eligible for 100% remote work depending on location with a preference for close proximity to key U.S. Army or USSOCOM commands.
