QTS Data Centers
The Logistics Project Manager is responsible for implementing and controlling the management of materials between different QTS locations. The Logistics Project Manager will integrate and strategize with Strategic Procurement Project Managers and other internal customers to ensure material needs are met with various projects within QTS. RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned. • Manage inventory tracking and shipping with 3rd party vendors to maximize efficiency in a timely and cost-effective manner • Develop, facilitate, and document processes to continually improve the organization's ability of transferring assets from one site to another within expected time frame for maximum efficiency • Develop, manage, and maintain effective 3rd party relationships with transportation carriers, warehouses, etc. to ensure execution of required business outcomes • Responsible for reporting on inventory levels, supply chain progress, and procedural efficiencies to ensure that supply chain needs are being properly achieved • Forecast equipment needs based on proposed business plan • Maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of building types and how that drives equipment needs to guide design decisions • Proactively identify and facilitate resolution of unique equipment needs of each site while working closely with business groups to mitigate risks and issues to QTS • Develop, write, and establish logistics processes for Procurement Development department to optimize logistics/supply chain network • Create and communicate status updates to support efficient decision making BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management or equivalent experience • Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role • Experience working with inventory management software and forecasting strategies • Experience conducting tracking and data analysis • Very strong Excel and PowerPoint skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience working in a Data Center or similar environment • Experience conducting tracking and data analysis • Experience working for or with Construction Management Firms • Experience working for or with Industrial Equipment Manufacturers KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES • Problem solving skills • Verbal and written communication • Organization and logistics skills • Strong attention to detail • Data analysis • Team oriented • Proactive critical thinking • Negotiation skills • Scheduling and time-management skills TOTAL REWARDS - This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending and HSA accounts; paid holidays; paid time off; paid volunteer days; employee assistance program; tuition assistance; parental leave; military leave assistance; QTS scholarship for dependents; wellness program, and other company benefits. - This position is Bonus eligible. What You'll Do: - Manage all aspects of onsite high profile/complex construction projects that require a high level of product knowledge. - Help establish KPI’s specific to each project as well as establish performance tracking methods, project dashboards, and project issue trackers. - Communicate to the customer, expedite OS&Ds (over, short & damaged) and resolve customer issues promptly. - Read through all Purchase Orders to get an understanding of requirements and make sure terms and conditions are correct. - Work with sales and vendors to obtain additional margin when possible. - Coordinate with vendors, customers, and sales teams on pricing, order placement, claims and returned goods, and account management to ensure we are meeting customer expectations. - Expedite backorders to maximize fill rates and customer satisfaction. - Work closely with customer project team, internal staff, and procurement teams to maximize inventory efficiency and reduce excess. Work with vendors to create project specific programs to help mitigate inventory excess. - Ensure that all project site safety requirements and protocols are established and met. - Determine vendors and purchase requirements looking for additional pricing advantages and product substitution opportunities to substantially improve the overall profitability of the project. - Manage the delivery schedule, product quality, information updates and back charge. - Proactively seek alternative methods to deliver the project on time and within budget. - Provide timely price quotations, requotes, and/or proposals. - Develop relationships with customer, strategic suppliers, and vendors. - Coordinate with project team for documentation requirements such as O&M manuals, Test Reports, submittal packages, and Certificates of Compliance. Establish cadence calls with internal and external project teams to track performance. - May provide training and guidance to entry level Project Managers. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications - 7+ years of quotation, project management, or customer service experience. - Experience in electrical distribution industry preferred. - High School or GED - Required.
