Intern, Financial Reporting

• Assist the accounting team with ad-hoc accounting issues and research • Prepare monthly results flash reports and assist in ad-hoc deep dive reviews • Prepare quarterly and year-end financial statements, including footnote disclosures • Prepare monthly internal financial statements • Monitor certain transactions and calculations for use in management and debt covenant reporting • Participate in researching, documenting and supporting the organization’s more complex accounting decisions • Participate in documenting and updating the organization’s accounting policies • Works with the Operations and Finance teams to identify changes in the business that need to be evaluated from a technical accounting perspective • Assists in accounting due diligence and purchase accounting related to business acquisitions • Assists with the overall coordination and interactions with the external audit firm and valuation providers
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- An aspiration to obtain CPA or MBA accreditation, preferred
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, or similar tools
- Excellent communication, writing, organizational and people skills
- Strong research capabilities with the ability to think through complex details but also understand the big picture
- Participative, hands on, "roll up the sleeves" work style with a keen attention to thoroughness and details
