The Manager will play a critical role as a key contributor to various accounting functions at BigBear.ai. What you will do Accounting Operations / Reporting: - Take lead role in implementation, compliance, and ongoing analysis of revenue recognition policies in accordance with ASC 606 - Ensure accurate contract review, revenue treatment, and financial reporting related to revenue streams. - Assist in the monthly close process, including preparing workpapers and reconciliations. - Record monthly journal entries ensuring accuracy and appropriate documentation and approvals, primarily related to the order-to-cash (revenue) cycle. - Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and variance analysis. - Assist in preparing and reviewing Quarterly SEC filings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations. - Prepare technical accounting memos on an ad-hoc basis supporting matters to include business combinations, stock-based compensation, derivatives and convertible debt, among others. Accounting Systems: - Collaborate with stakeholders to manage data governance, reporting structures, and data tagging. - Identify opportunities for system improvements and implement new functionalities in order to drive automation and scalability - Perform recurring data integrity checks with the systems administration team to ensure effective data governance. Policy and Compliance: - Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness. - Maintain compliance with SOX 404 controls, assisting in audits and internal controls testing. - Support DCAA-related compliance, including ad-hoc audits and Incurred Cost Submissions. Team Collaboration: - Work closely with other departments to support financial decision-making and provide financial insights. - Participate in special projects as needed to support the company's strategic objectives. - Collaborate with Unanet Systems Admin to test and implement process and reporting improvement initiatives. What you need to have - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. - CPA certification preferred. - Proven experience (7+ years) in accounting. - Extensive experience in revenue recognition, with a strong command of ASC 606 principles and their practical application, preferably in the government contracting or professional services industries. - Thorough knowledge of GAAP financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements. - Proven track record in preparing and reviewing SEC filings for a publicly traded company. - Experience with ERP systems and other accounting and reporting software. - Hands on experience with SOX compliance and internal control frameworks. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Advanced MS office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc) - Ability to manage competing priorities and work well under pressure. - Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. - Excellent communication and presentation skills. POSITION SUMMARY The Financial Systems Manager serves as the organization’s principal architect and strategic owner of the enterprise financial systems ecosystem, with NetSuite as the system of record. You will partner closely with Finance, Operations, HR, and other departments to maintain system integrity, streamline processes, and enable accurate reporting and decision making.
