Working under minimal supervision of an IT Manager or Director, referring only exceptional problems and issues for management review or approval, the Sr Business Integration Analyst manages project requirements, timelines, and technical integrations from various platforms external to the core systems at Connection. Works with customers and/or suppliers in support of new or revised systems, API, cXML or EDI integrations, as well as internal customers and stakeholders for new business solutions requirements gathering. Works closely, when necessary, with the applications and platform development teams, product management, and applications support for identifying systems, platform, and business process improvements for both internal and external customers and suppliers. Responsibilities Primary Job Duties • Understands the business needs and identifies areas of opportunity through joint analysis of systems and processes.• Drives the development of new systems and integrated processes, by working closely with external customers and managing projects in Information Technology.• Gathers, analyzes, and translates business requirements into functional and systems specifications.• Produces artifacts that support the agile SDLC process: requirements, specifications, process maps, project plans, mockups and test cases.• Provides root cause analysis of difficult problems and their solutions.• Understands and conveys to others the interdependencies of various systems.• Resolves issues or escalates risk to next level of management.• Manages customer requests for change which are submitted to the Helpdesk.• Supports the Development team in organizing work based on an Agile/Scrum environment.• Supports the Quality Assurance team as required for unit and/or regression testing.• Works with customers in support of systems integrations.• Identifies application, platform, and business process improvements for both internal and external customers. - Responsibilities may include gathering and documenting business requirements and converting those to functional specifications for the development team to develop against. Documenting specifications including quality assurance steps to be followed by the development engineer and QA Analyst. EDI integrations require working closely with the external partner to map requirements, identify or create test data and shepherd the integration testing through to production implementation. Min USD $93,000.00/Yr. Max USD $119,862.00/Yr. Qualifications Required competencies: • One or more of the following: - - In-depth knowledge of EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML), experience working with EDI documents (including 810, 850, 855, 856, etc.) and experience mapping, troubleshooting and testing EDI documents with various trading partners - In-depth knowledge and experience working with APIs (GET, POST, PATCH, DELETE) and comparing JSON output to underlying relational databases. - Strong experience working with APIs; reading, creating, and updating data via JSON payloads - Ability to present to a diverse audience which may include end customers and partners, and all levels of management. - Proven experience distilling broad customer requirements into complex technical specifications, as it pertains to either EDI or API integrations. - Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards EnterpriseOne preferred) and integration via API or EDI - Working knowledge of ITSM Solutions including ServiceNow, Cherwell, Atlassian, etc. - Working knowledge of B2B procurement platforms such as Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, Workday, etc - Advanced Microsoft Office skills for creating presentations, spreadsheets and other documents - Knowledgeable of requirement hierarchy in the Agile Development Methodology and skilled in writing user stories - Understanding of business processes in a distribution business environment - Working knowledge of software bug tracking / reporting best practices and tools - Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems - Understand business-impact of technology problems - Excellent written communication skills and comfort ability to compose professional business communications via email, letter, and proposals. - Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to present professional demonstrations - Good organizational skills with ability to document activities, anticipate problems, plan schedules and monitor performance according to priorities and deadlines - Self-starter with the ability to manage a range of small projects in parallel - Experience in working with business customers as well as application developers - Strong experience working with APIs; reading, creating, and updating data via JSON payloads - Strong experience querying relational databases, MySQL and Oracle preferred - History of creating user stories, process documents to support new and existing business processes - Experience in an agile software development environment - Curiosity to learn business processes, identify areas for improvement and confidence in speaking with all levels of business: internal and external. Additional preferred competencies or preferred qualifications: - Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and SaaS-based business applications - Prior experience in supply chain, finance, or e-commerce integration projects. - For EDI specialists, previous experience working with Boomi EDI/B2B management or other integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Informatica) - Practical experience in Technology Resell, B2B, or eCommerce industry - MBA or MS in Information Systems is highly desired - Project Management and Process Improvement training is desired - Formal Business Process Analysis and Improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, BPM, etc. a plus
