Job Description

Director, Payer Economics & HEOR Strategy

Twin Health

Twin Health At Twin Health, we empower people to improve and prevent chronic metabolic diseases, like type 2 diabetes and obesity, with a new standard of care. Twin Health is the only company applying AI Digital Twin technology exclusively toward metabolic health. We start by building a dynamic model of each person’s metabolism — drawing on thousands of data points from CGMs, smartwatches, and meal logs — that maps their personal path to better health. Guided by a dedicated clinical care team, our members have lowered their A1C below the diabetes range, achieved lasting weight loss, and reduced or even eliminated medications, all while living healthier, happier lives. Working here Our team at Twin Health is passionate, talented, and united by a shared purpose: to improve the metabolic health and happiness of our members. We believe in empowering every Twin to make a meaningful impact for our members, our clients, and each other, while enjoying a supportive, collaborative work environment. Twin has been recognized not only for our innovation but also for our culture, including: Innovator of the Year by the Employer Health Innovation Roundtable (EHIR), selected to CB Insights’ Digital Health 150, and named one of Newsweek’s Top Most Loved Workplace® . With more than $100 million raised in recent funding, including a $53 million Series E round in 2025 led by Maj Invest, and a $50 million investment in 2023 led by Temasek, Twin is scaling rapidly across the U.S. and globally. Backed by leading venture firms like ICONIQ Growth, Sequoia, Sofina, Temasek, and Peak XV, we are building the most impactful digital health company in the world. Join us as we reinvent the standard of care in metabolic health. Opportunity As a Director, Payer Economics & HEOR Strategy, you’ll own the end-to-end economic narrative that translates Twin Health’s AI-driven outcomes into a rigorous, defensible value proposition. You will serve as the strategic bridge between complex claims data and C-suite decision-making, architecting the actuarial models that prove our ROI to health plan leaders while leading the charge on high-impact peer-reviewed evidence. By anchoring our clinical breakthroughs in ironclad economic logic, you will be the definitive voice that turns raw data into the market-moving insights required to scale Twin’s impact across the healthcare ecosystem. Responsibilities ROI Modeling & Economic Evaluation - Lead the development of rigorous economic analyses to quantify the impact of Twin’s model on healthcare costs, utilization, and outcomes. - Apply and interpret robust analytic methods including difference-in-differences analyses, quasi-experimental designs, longitudinal outcomes evaluation, and actuarial-style cost modeling. - Translate clinical and utilization outcomes into defensible estimates of total cost of care impact and return on investment (ROI). - Ensure modeling frameworks align with how payer actuarial and medical economics teams evaluate vendor interventions and population health programs. - Maintain and evolve the economic models that underpin Twin’s ROI methodology, payer evaluations, and strategic insights. Commercial Analytics & Deal Support - Participate in payer and employer discussions to explain and defend Twin’s methodology for calculating PMPM (Per Member Per Month) savings, cost offsets, and ROI. - Partner with commercial and market access teams to translate economic findings into clear value narratives for health plans and self-insured employers. - Support development of payer-facing materials including economic evidence summaries, value dossiers, and executive briefing content. - Provide analytical guidance during strategic evaluations with benefit consultants, employer coalitions, and payer actuarial teams. Economic Modeling & Framework Development - Design and maintain credible economic and actuarial models used for payer evaluation, strategic analysis, and external publications. - Ensure models are transparent, defensible, and aligned with industry expectations for total cost of care analysis across Commercial and Medicare Advantage populations. - Translate modeling outputs into strategic insights that inform internal planning, payer engagement, and market positioning. Research & Evidence Generation - Lead the development of economic and outcomes analyses that strengthen the evidence base supporting Twin’s clinical and financial impact. - Serve as lead author or key contributor on peer-reviewed publications focused on the economic and clinical impact of metabolic health interventions. - Develop white papers, market briefs, and executive perspectives aligned with Twin’s evidence and thought leadership agenda. - Analyze large-scale claims datasets (e.g., MarketScan, Optum, CMS LDS) to identify patient populations and utilization patterns relevant to Twin’s model. - Other duties as assigned Qualifications - 7+ years of experience in Health Economics, Medical Economics, Outcomes Research, or Actuarial Analysis. - Experience conducting economic evaluations of healthcare interventions, vendor solutions, or population health programs from a payer, employer, or actuarial perspective. - Experience presenting economic analyses to payer actuarial teams, employer benefit leaders, or healthcare executives. CMS & Payer Knowledge - Familiarity with Medicare Advantage economics, including the role of Star Ratings, quality incentives, and risk adjustment in payer financial performance. - Understanding of how payers evaluate total cost of care, ROI, and sustainability of healthcare interventions. Education - PhD or Master’s in Health Economics, Economics, Public Health, Biostatistics, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative field. - Technical Proficiency - Strong experience with economic modeling, causal inference methods, and healthcare cost analysis. - Proficiency in SQL and R or Python, with the ability to work directly with large healthcare datasets and develop analytic models. Communication & External Engagement - Ability to clearly communicate complex economic concepts to technical and non-technical audiences without sacrificing rigor. - Experience contributing to publications, white papers, conference presentations, or client-facing economic materials. - This remote opportunity based out of the U.S. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. At Levanta, we believe they work best together. - We want someone who can build the narrative, translate it into effective GTM assets, and create the systems that help the business scale it. What Levanta Offers: - A dynamic and supportive work environment where innovation and creativity are encouraged. - Competitive salary and benefits package. - Open vacation and sick policy, take the time you need. - Opportunity for professional growth and advancement within a rapidly expanding startup. - A culture that values diversity, inclusion, and the impact of every team member on our success. - Must have a permanent address in one of our hub states: California, Florida, New York, Ohio, Utah, Texas, Michigan, or Washington.
