Underwriting Counsel

Stewart Title Guaranty Company

• Ensures accountable decisions are taken at the right level in the organization • Represents plaintiffs and defendants in civil cases • Manages all phases of the litigation process • Reviews and evaluates title searches and insurance risk factors • Communicates underwriting requirements to counsel for buyers, sellers and lenders • Evaluates risk and exposures to determine acceptability of business • Determines premiums, terms and conditions based on established rules, rates, and guidelines • Analyzes data such as financial conditions, participation percentage, type of industry, etc. • Solves moderately complex to complex problems and analyzes possible solutions

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred
  • Typically requires 2+ years of related work experience
