Role Description CompTech is seeking a qualified, cleared Senior Systems Administrator to support mission-critical cloud and infrastructure environments for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). This role provides hands-on technical leadership to ensure the secure, stable, and reliable operation of enterprise systems that enable DLA’s global logistics and sustainment mission. The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for: - Planning, engineering, installing, configuring, operating, maintaining, and optimizing on-premises and cloud-based systems, platforms, and network connectivity. - Ensuring high availability, performance, and continuity of operations in compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF requirements, and contractual obligations. - Providing meaningful mission impact, ownership of critical systems, and the opportunity to work in a secure, high-trust environment supporting national defense. Key responsibilities include: - Organizing and directing the configuration, operation, and maintenance of information management systems. - Analyzing and resolving end-user software, application, and connectivity issues. - Conducting capacity and performance analysis and recommending system configuration changes and upgrades. - Improving system administrator efficiency and accuracy using automated tools and scripts. - Developing system administration procedures and delivering system administrator training and skills assessments. - Providing end-user training and technical guidance. - Recommending technology directions and solutions to align IT capabilities with business objectives and vision. - Delivering local and remote maintenance support for operational systems across multiple locations, including system maintenance, upgrades, and new server and application installations. - Leading and directing the work of system administrators, ensuring effective day-to-day system administration, resource optimization, and user support. - Applying advanced technical expertise in application networking, including load balancing and fault-tolerant architectures. - Performing vulnerability management to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks. Qualifications - Three (3) years hands-on experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) IT hosting solutions. - Ten (10) years of specialized experience in Information Processing disciplines involving a range of hardware/software solutions. - At least four (4) years of concentrated, hands-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software. - Extensive experience with commercial cloud hosting platforms, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline. - IA-Level: DoD 8140/8570–compliant. - IAT-Level II certification including one or more of the following: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, or GCIH. - One of the following certifications: Google Associate Cloud Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Architect. - One of the following AWS certifications: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator. - One of the following Microsoft certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer Associate. - Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Cloud Operations. - Red Hat Certified Engineer. - Must hold ACTIVE Top-Secret Security Clearance to be considered for this role.
