Job Description

Senior Product Manager, Code

Harness

Harness is the AI Software Delivery Platform company, led by technologist and entrepreneur Jyoti Bansal (founder of AppDynamics, acquired by Cisco for $3.7B). Harness has raised approximately $570M in funding and is valued at $5.5B, backed by leading investors including Goldman Sachs, Menlo Ventures, IVP, Unusual Ventures, Citi Ventures, and more. As AI accelerates code creation, the real bottleneck has shifted to everything after the code – testing, deployments, application security, reliability, compliance, and cost optimization. Harness brings AI and automation to this “outer loop,” helping teams ship software faster while maintaining security and governance throughout the entire software delivery lifecycle. Powered by Harness AI and the Software Delivery Knowledge Graph, the Harness Platform applies deep context and intelligent automation across the software delivery lifecycle with governance and policy-driven controls embedded throughout the platform. Over the past year, Harness powered over 185M deployments, 82M builds, 18T flag evaluations, 8M security scans, 9.1B optimized tests, 3T protected API calls, and helped manage $2.8B in cloud spend — enabling customers like United Airlines, Morningstar, and Choice Hotels to accelerate releases by up to 75%, reduce cloud costs by up to 60%, and achieve 10x DevOps efficiency. With a global team across 14 offices and 25 countries, Harness is shaping the future of AI software delivery — and we’re looking for exceptional talent to help us move even faster. Position Summary Harness is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead Harness Code Repository, a core pillar of the end-to-end Harness software delivery platform. You will own strategy and execution across source control, pull requests, governance, and AI-assisted developer workflows - deeply integrating code into the broader lifecycle (code → build → security → deploy). This is a high-impact, individual contributor role with a strong focus on technical execution, enterprise-grade trust, and developer experience. What You’ll Do Product Strategy & Roadmap - Own product strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for Harness Code Repository across repo fundamentals, PR workflows, branch protections/policies, reviews/approvals, permissions/RBAC, and auditability. - Deepen and scale integration across the Harness software delivery platform, strengthening Code’s role as a first-class pillar across the software delivery lifecycle. - Define success metrics and outcomes (adoption, migration velocity, PR throughput, time-to-merge) and drive decisions using telemetry and customer feedback. AI-Driven Innovation - Define and deliver AI-assisted workflows grounded in repo/PR context that measurably improve developer productivity and code quality (with clear evaluation criteria, guardrails, and launch/iteration plans). - Partner with engineering and design to ensure AI experiences are trustworthy, controllable, and aligned with enterprise requirements. Customer & Market Insight - Partner with customers to understand how teams create, review, and ship code day-to-day - including collaboration and governance needs - and use those insights to reduce PR friction, improve usability, and guide roadmap priorities. - Drive competitive intelligence across source control and adjacent developer workflow tooling (code review, code quality, policy/governance, security signals, and AI-assisted development); translate insights into clear priorities and differentiation. Execution Excellence - Write and manage technical requirements/specs; partner closely with engineering on feasibility and architectural tradeoffs to ship high-quality releases. - Drive execution with urgency: anticipate risks, unblock dependencies, and communicate tradeoffs and timelines clearly across engineering, field, and leadership stakeholders. - Collaborate cross-functionally with GTM, PMM, and DevRel to drive adoption and craft technical narratives that resonate with developers and technical buyers. About you - You’re a developer at heart, passionate about improving the end-to-end software delivery experience. - You’re a highly technical PM, comfortable going deep on architecture, scalability, reliability, and systems tradeoffs. - You’re AI-native in how you work: you leverage modern tools (e.g., coding copilots, automation, agents, prototyping/vibe-coding) to move faster, validate ideas, and increase personal and team throughput - while maintaining quality and rigor. - You can define and deliver AI-assisted product workflows with clear guardrails, evaluation criteria, and success metrics. - You’re comfortable operating as the single product owner in ambiguity; you’re execution-driven, accountable, and a crisp communicator. - You move fast, simplify complexity, and deliver predictably with a high quality bar. - You think in platforms and systems, not isolated features. - You thrive in a high-ownership environment - resourceful, biased to action, and willing to roll up your sleeves. Qualifications - BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience. - 7+ years total experience, including: - 2+ years in software development or engineering. - 5+ years in product management for developer tools, DevOps, SCM, or CI/CD products. - Proven track record shipping complex products with measurable adoption and impact. - Familiarity with GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket ecosystems and CI/quality integrations. - Enterprise SaaS governance experience and/or AI-assisted developer workflows is a plus. Work Location - Ideally someone located near Mountain View, CA who can work hybrid from our office but we are open to Remote within North America. What you will have at Harness - Competitive salary - Comprehensive healthcare benefits - Flexible Spending Account (FSA) - Flexible work schedule - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - Flexible Time Off and Parental Leave - Monthly, quarterly, and annual social and team building events - Monthly internet reimbursement The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $170,000 and $185,000 annually. This description is a summary of our understanding of the job description. Click on 'Apply' button to find out more. Role Description We normalize real-time telematics and execution data from hundreds of thousands of trucks and trailers — across 130+ providers — into a single API. The infrastructure works. Now we need to make it faster to integrate, easier to trust, and more obviously valuable to the developers and operators building on top of it. This is our first product management hire, and it's a role for someone who sees that as an opportunity rather than a warning sign. What You'll Own - API & Platform Development: Identify the highest-impact improvements across our API endpoints, schemas, data models, and webhook capabilities, and work with engineering to ship them. - Developer Experience & Documentation: Partner with our product specialist to evolve our documentation, integration guides, onboarding tutorials, and code examples into a developer experience that gets teams to their first successful integration fast. - Customer Onboarding & Adoption: Own the end-to-end onboarding journey for fleets and platform customers, reducing connection friction, improving setup clarity, and designing the path to the first moment where a customer genuinely sees what Catena's data can do. - Customer Discovery: Spend real time with customers — brokers, TMSs, fintechs, fleets — understanding their operational workflows and where data does and doesn't deliver value today. Qualifications - Have shipped platform or API products before and understand what makes integrations succeed or fail in the real world. - Can talk to a developer, an engineer, and a freight operator in the same day and be credible to all three. - Run discovery like it's the most important part of the job — because at this stage, it is. - Are execution-oriented. You write clear specs, make decisions without perfect information, and keep things moving. - Are comfortable with ambiguity and can set your own direction when the roadmap isn't handed to you. - Have strong product instincts about when to build, when to wait, and when the right answer is documentation instead of a feature. - 4+ years of product management experience, ideally with APIs, data platforms, developer tools, or SaaS infrastructure. Logistics, supply chain, or fintech experience is a meaningful plus. Benefits - Competitive salary - Meaningful equity - Full benefits - 401k match - Remote-first with optional travel for team offsites and occasional on-sites Company Description Catena has raised $8.25M from Shaper Capital, Floating Point, Plug and Play, Liquid 2, and leading industry angels. Customers are already using us in production — many of them are also investors. The platform problem here is genuinely hard and genuinely unsolved. Freight data is fragmented, inconsistent, and spread across dozens of providers with incompatible formats. The PM who joins now will help define what a reliable, decision-grade telematics API actually looks like — and build the product experience that makes it the default choice for the next generation of freight platforms.
