Job Description
Product Manager
Catena Clearing
This description is a summary of our understanding of the job description. Click on 'Apply' button to find out more. Role Description We normalize real-time telematics and execution data from hundreds of thousands of trucks and trailers — across 130+ providers — into a single API. The infrastructure works. Now we need to make it faster to integrate, easier to trust, and more obviously valuable to the developers and operators building on top of it. This is our first product management hire, and it's a role for someone who sees that as an opportunity rather than a warning sign. What You'll Own - API & Platform Development: Identify the highest-impact improvements across our API endpoints, schemas, data models, and webhook capabilities, and work with engineering to ship them. - Developer Experience & Documentation: Partner with our product specialist to evolve our documentation, integration guides, onboarding tutorials, and code examples into a developer experience that gets teams to their first successful integration fast. - Customer Onboarding & Adoption: Own the end-to-end onboarding journey for fleets and platform customers, reducing connection friction, improving setup clarity, and designing the path to the first moment where a customer genuinely sees what Catena's data can do. - Customer Discovery: Spend real time with customers — brokers, TMSs, fintechs, fleets — understanding their operational workflows and where data does and doesn't deliver value today. Qualifications - Have shipped platform or API products before and understand what makes integrations succeed or fail in the real world. - Can talk to a developer, an engineer, and a freight operator in the same day and be credible to all three. - Run discovery like it's the most important part of the job — because at this stage, it is. - Are execution-oriented. You write clear specs, make decisions without perfect information, and keep things moving. - Are comfortable with ambiguity and can set your own direction when the roadmap isn't handed to you. - Have strong product instincts about when to build, when to wait, and when the right answer is documentation instead of a feature. - 4+ years of product management experience, ideally with APIs, data platforms, developer tools, or SaaS infrastructure. Logistics, supply chain, or fintech experience is a meaningful plus. Benefits - Competitive salary - Meaningful equity - Full benefits - 401k match - Remote-first with optional travel for team offsites and occasional on-sites Company Description Catena has raised $8.25M from Shaper Capital, Floating Point, Plug and Play, Liquid 2, and leading industry angels. Customers are already using us in production — many of them are also investors. The platform problem here is genuinely hard and genuinely unsolved. Freight data is fragmented, inconsistent, and spread across dozens of providers with incompatible formats. The PM who joins now will help define what a reliable, decision-grade telematics API actually looks like — and build the product experience that makes it the default choice for the next generation of freight platforms.
